    Our Talent Teamis looking for a Depot Controller to join their Baking Business Unit. This position is located in Burgersfort Depot and will report to the General Manager.

    The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing and maintaining the fleet and the transport team in the depot, thereby ensuring that productivity and performance are maximized. To control the inbound and outbound processes and stock handling in order to maintain efficiencies within the depot warehouse.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • A 3-year national diploma in logistics, fleet and/or warehouse management.
    • Valid Code EB drivers' license.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office).
    • A minimum of 3 years management experience in a similar environment.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment.

    Inbound Control:

    • Activate internal material movement, incorporating order placement; product picking; and movement to truck for dispatch.
    • Monitor product shelf life in order to ensure the product has not expired, using the FIFO (first in, first out) system.

    Outbound Control:

    • Control the functions of outbound, ensuring products are dispatched out to customer.
    • Ensure that all orders leave the warehouse correctly packed and damage free.

    Customer Liaison:

    • Deal with issues around damaged stock or stock shortages.

    Stock Control:

    • Ensure stock is in the right location through the management of daily cyclic counts.
    • Ensure staff are properly rotating stock (where it does not go to the pick face but to the back-up location).
    • Monitor production and expiry dates on all inbound and outbound products.
    • Track inbound/outbound damage trends, establish root causes and take the appropriate corrective action.
    • Ensure cyclic counts are conducted prior to stock takes.
    • Ensure frozen stock is kept in the appropriate frozen and/or chilled state.
    • Prepare for and initiate monthly stock takes, ensuring that the entire process is completed within specified time frames.

    Warehouse Maintenance Management:

    Manage and monitor the condition of the warehouse ensuring that the warehouse is kept clean. Damaged goods are dealt with according to SoP. Lighting is adequate and doors open and close easily. Areas in need of attention are reported to the Maintenance Manager. All bin allocations are clear from any damaged pallets. All forklifts are in good working conditions.

    Fleet Control:

    • Manage the daily schedule.
    • Check that a job card has been allocated to work and that the driver has managed to complete the form correctly.
    • Ensure that drivers complete the checklist every morning and afternoon to establish if there are any defaults.
    • Request complaints and difficulties for the day and take the appropriate action.
    • Monitor transport performance against benchmarks by obtaining vehicle exception reports from the tracking department as a means of monitoring drivers’ conduct and vehicle performance.

    Compliance Control:

    • Handle proxy responsibilities.
    • Ensure that all drivers have valid driver’s licences and PDP’s.
    • Ensure all staff members comply with health and safety requirements.
    • Investigate and report on all injuries on duty (IOD’s).
    • Implement safe working procedures.
    • Verify temperature for the entire warehouse by analysing the temperature worksheet.
    • Ensure frozen stock is maintained at above minus 18 and chilled not below minus 1.
    • Ensure staff understand and comply with the standards set by ISO 22 000 and HACCP.
    • Certify that a new load always enters a clean and well maintained vehicle highlighting the significance of quality.

    Security Control:

    • Investigate hijacking incidents to establish whether or not they are genuine cases.
    • Ensure that all stock leaves the warehouse with proper documentation.
    • Ensure cameras are focused on risk areas such as entry and exit points and on staff activity/inactivity to ensure staff are appropriately utilised and productive. 
    • Issue stock counts on key lines such as “ready to eat” products (e.g. polony) on a daily basis and analyse results.
    • Ensure that security staff check staff leaving for tea and lunch breaks.
    • Ensure all trucks leaving the warehouse are sealed and recorded in a sealed register.
    • Check the seals on warehouse doors on a daily basis.

    Team Supervision:

    Transport Expeditor - Durban

    Our Talent Team is looking for X4 Transport Expeditors to join their Vector Logistics Division.

    The roles are based in Durban.

    As a Transport Expeditor, you will be responsible for monitoring the effective execution of the daily load plan whilst ensuring effective customer communication. Key to this role is ensuring that deviations to routes are understood, communicated and documented with the view of constantly improving both efficiency and service levels.

    Duties & Responsibilities 

    • To Ensure daily route plans deliver optimal productivity and service levels:
    • Constant monitoring of execution of the daily load plan via telematics system and telephonic communication with drivers
    • Make in the moment decisions to reroute drivers should excessive delays occur
    • Proactively identify potential RD’s during the day, highlight these to customers, DC’s and sales.
    • To achieve optimal utilisation of the dedicated secondary fleet: Interrogate current day load plan for opportunities for late additions and Redeliveries with the view to maximizing daily volume output, immediately notify DC leadership of any breakdowns during the day and follow up on corrective action to be taken
    • Look for opportunities to mitigate the impact of breakdowns that occur in trade

    Daily monitoring of plan vs actual performance and input given to system calibration:

    • Daily engagement with drivers and DC trackers to gain insight into current day issues experienced
    • Daily engagement with Routing and Scheduling controller to highlight all identified issues from previous day
    • Monitor planned vs actual start up times for each day
    • Provides immediate support for any customer queries received through the call centre

     Ensure Effective shipment debriefing process:

    • Ensure all issues identified during the day are documented and shared with DC Debriefer and planner
    • Ensure trip sheet feedback is received from DC Debriefer, add own comments and share with controller, ensure that once controller has completed trip sheet action items, these are closed out with drivers

    Miller - Pretoria West

    Job Description    
    RCL FOODS is seeking a Miller to join our Baking Division. The role will be based in Pretoria West and report to the Head Miller. The successful applicant will be responsible for efficient and cost-effective operations of all mills while ensuring all finished products adhere to specific quality criteria, and all stipulated targets and measurements to be attained daily.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Qualified Miller that is trade tested in maize milling technologies preferably (Wheat and Maize will be ideal)
    • Minimum 3 years of milling experience in a high-capacity plant
    • Fumigation and Grading Certification
    • Advanced milling qualifications will be an advantage

    Duties & Responsibilities 

    Operational Tasks Roller Mills:

    • Ensure break releases on Wheat Mills are carried out on a weekly basis as per instruction.
    • Ensure no build-up of stock on roll feed plates.
    • Ensure all scrapers and roll brushes are checked per shift and changed if necessary
    • Ensure roll hopper exhausts are fully operational per shift

    Plansifter:

    • Ensure all sifter maintenance is carried out as per requirements and schedules
    • Ensure any burst covers are replaced on shift

    • Ensure screens of all turbo sieves on Germ system is intact, clean and machine inside cleaned out regularly

    RCL FOODS is recruiting for an experienced Finance Clerk to join our dynamic Finance team, based in our Groceries business unit, in Randfontein.

    The successful incumbent will report to the Accountant and will be responsible for Timeliness and accuracy of rebate processing, Data Integrity, and accuracy, and Streamlining processes.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Minimum of Grade 12
    •  Tertiary qualification within the Finance field would be advantageous
    •  At least 1 years’ accounting or sales rebates experience, including customer processes, and good people management
    •  Syspro experience and Intermediate Excel skills are advantageous
    •  Ability to understand Trade Agreements
    •  Ability to understand provisions and how to raise journals

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Rebates Coordination

    •  Coordinate rebate provisions:
    •  Maintain provision calculation files
    •  Calculate the provision calculation files
    •  Ensure that any deviations are dealt with before sending provision calculation files to Commercial Team
    •  Assist Commercial Team with queries relating to provision calculation files
    •  Process journals on provision calculation files
    •  Complete the Rebate payment schedules

    •  Process credit notes for Rebate payments schedules
    •  Liaise with and assist customers/ Vector/ sales team on any rebate issues
