    Specialist: Global HR Planning, Reporting and Analytics

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    Global HR Planning, Reporting and Analytics is a sub-function within the Global Organization Strategy and Performance Vertical at MTN Group HR. As part of the Global HR Planning, Reporting and Analytics sub-function, the Specialist is responsible to assist in the timely and accurate generation of global people analytics and insights. The Specialist is further responsible for Global HR data organization, control and integrity.
    The Specialist, Global HR Planning, Reporting and Analytics reports to the Consultant, Global HR Planning, Reporting and Analytics. The position will interface with multiple teams within the Manco and the Global HR Expertise Verticals and Opco Community to deliver role expectations

    Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
    Key Deliverables

    • The Specialist, Global HR Planning, Reporting and Analytics will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
    • Governance
    • Strategic Meetings
    • Provide input into strategic meetings when required
    • Provide input to enterprise wide transformation initiatives when required
    • Provide input to and ensure adequate risk mitigation and controls
    • Perform evaluation baseline of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Provide input into the preparation of proposal on change initiatives SLA, policies and procedures

    Escalations

    • Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, and cost or resource or reputational impact

    Functional Tactical

    • Provide input into all projects initiated (internal or global)
    • Provide input in establishing project objectives, targets and budgets for the Global HR Planning, Reporting and Analytics sub-function
    • Identify and document key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
    • Ensure adherence to budgets
    • Prepare documentation required for sign-off / decision making regarding tactical changes

    Performance

    • Ensure execution in alignment with the functional strategy
    • Provide input into the SLA approval and exception performance review

    Reporting

    • Report on a periodic basis to the reporting manager relating to progress made within the sub-function and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organization
    • Report on an ad hoc basis on specific projects, as required

    Operational Delivery

    • Support periodic reviews to ensure compliance to group data management, reporting and analytics in line with the standardized practices, business strategies and leading industry practices
    • Support the implementation of data management, reporting and analytics projects and initiatives
    • Liaise and maintain operational relationships with external suppliers and consultants

    Global HR Reporting and Analytics

    • Create functionality and tools for management reporting and insights
    • Scout the environment, analyse past user requests, engage with users and identify emerging reporting practices to enable continuous improvement of reporting service catalogues
    • Prepare, validate and release basic standard Global HR reports, with minimal supervision
    • Support in socialisation and communication of standard definitions and method of calculation for Group wide HR metrics
    • Responsible to source, consolidate, validate and generate standard global people metrics and reports
    • Assist in responding to ad-hoc standard analytics requests from Manco and Global HR Expertise Vertical teams
    • Understand and apply appropriate research strategy and methodology for developing insights
    • Apply data sourcing and mining practices, consolidate, correlate and update information and raw data from multiple sources which are necessary for generating analytical reports and insights
    • Create structured data sets from raw, unstructured data to enable analysis and insight generation
    • Perform standard qualitative and quantitative analyses using appropriate models and techniques to deliver key HR trends, insights and conclusions
    • Assist in development of Global HR KPI measurement metrics and Standards

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Minimum of 3 year tertiary diploma (Human Resources/ Mathematics/Statistics/Finance and / or equivalent)
    • Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body such as HR Analytics Professional and Oracle Certifications (BIEE), etc. (advantageous)

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR reporting and BI, Database Management and Quality control/financial modelling, analysis and report writing/visual basic, Advanced MS Excel skills
    • Financial / Numeracy experience
    • Telecom / Consulting industry experience (advantageous)
    • Experience working in a small to medium organization
    • Experience in ERP (Oracle preferred)
