    Senior Manager Internal Communications

    Purpose of the Position:

    • To lead the development and delivery of a company-wide internal communication strategy and plan to inspire, motivate, inform, and support all Video Entertainment employees.

    Key Performance Objectives

    Strategy Execution

    • Develop and implement an MCSA internal communication strategy.
    • Deliver an internal communication strategy and narrative, developed by the VE Head of Internal Communications, that binds all employees together behind Video Entertainment’s ambition to put customers first and create a successful and sustainable business for years to come.

    Operational Delivery

    • Lead the creation of MCSA employee communication programmes that deliver strong engagement and which help lift the company’s reputation as a great place to work.
    • Develop simple and effective approaches to audience segmentation to maximise the impact of internal communication resources, and to support leaders and line managers in playing a pivotal face-to-face communication role for MCSA teams.
    • Provide the MCSA leadership team with a structured cadence of communication and visibility, resulting in Year-on-Year improvement ratings for leadership communications.
    • Deliver effective internal communication and support plans for organisational change initiatives, positioning them as key enablers of business strategy particularly digital, and make appropriate adjustments.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Ensure close alignment between internal and external messaging to present a consistent story across all stakeholders.
    • Provide communication counsel, coaching, and best practice advice and solutions to business colleagues and the leadership team.

    People Management

    • Manage team members to ensure effective delivery of business unit objectives.
    • Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance development and informal coaching. Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.
    • Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.
    • Interview and recruit new members of the team, including determining appropriate compensation levels with input from HR.
    • Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met.
    • Review and update the department’s organisation structure and role description on at least an annual basis to ensure that they are fit for purpose and contain all the accountabilities of each team member.
    • Approve leave requests for team members and create leave plan to ensure adequate coverage.
    • When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from HR when required.
    • Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only if required.
    • Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance Improvement programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.
    • Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognized.

    Qualifications Essential

    • Degree in Public Relations/Corporate Communications

    Qualifications Preferred

    • Post Grad advantageous
    • Ensure that business progress, internal news and announcements are well-managed to communicate important changes in a timely, coordinated, and supportive way, resulting in YoY improvements in employees feeling they are kept well-informed.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience delivering effective and measurable internal communication and employee engagement programmes within a diverse, multi-cultural, environment
    • Tangible evidence of delivering successful change management, particularly multi-team, company-wide transformation.
