Senior Engagement Manager, EMEA-CST-Delivery at Amazon Web Services

DESCRIPTION

As a Senior Engagement Managers, you will manage internal AWS, external partner, and customer teams. You will drive engagements and focus on AWS solutions to help customers and partners remove constraints and accelerate their journey to AWS. In this role, you will plan, organize, and manage all phases of a project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery. This includes developing and managing project governance plans, project schedules, team goals, project milestones, budgets and defining success criteria.

In this role, you will guide individuals, teams or multiple groups to analyze project goals, create plans to achieve those goals, and then guiding AWS team members, customer stakeholders/SMEs, and potentially others to achieve those goals while understanding the customer environment and addressing any limitations to execution.

Interfaces with various customers and internal AWS stakeholders which consists of senior leadership teams (C-level execs, SVP/VP, Directors) and project-level resources such as SMEs and influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts and achieve results through others who are not direct reports.

Key job responsibilities

• As a Senior Engagement Manager you will manage projects independently and also deliver as part of larger teams.
• You will own work streams end to end, starting by understanding the customer required outcomes, then leading the team through delivery, managing customer expectations, proactively handling risks and following an effective governance structure, in order to deliver solutions tied to the customer business objectives.
• You will communicate in an effective way with AWS team members and stakeholders, as well as with customer counterparts. Achieving customer satisfaction will be a relevant driver of your work.
• As an Amazonian leader you will embrace and apply the Amazon Leadership Principles, proactively engaging other teams to learn and share, and participating actively in the recruitment and onboarding of future team members.
• This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services when needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Multiple years of Project/Program Management experience supervising and delivering enterprise-level IT engagements in IT Professional Services or consulting organization supporting Fortune 500 customers. Experience leading other project managers to deliver a program with multiple and concurrent projects
• Experience leading multiple Waterfall or Agile teams (e.g. Scrum Masters, Product Owners) concurrently and/or at scale
• Active project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2)
• Experience preparing business reports and presenting results to C-level executives (CIO, CEO, CTO, CISO, etc.) as well as to technical subject matter experts and BS level technical degree or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Understanding of the value proposition of the public cloud and experience delivering cloud engagements (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• AWS experience and certification(s)
• Actively supporting and fostering a culture of inclusion
• MS/MBA level technical degree or equivalent experience
