    Manager: Communications

    Reporting to the GM: Communications & Community Relations and working in a collaborative community within the business, you will:

    • Develop and implement RBM’s integrated communications strategy, overseeing both internal communications (workforce and Rio Tinto Group channels) and external communications (media, communities, and stakeholders).
    • Lead the Communications team, ensuring coverage of key responsibilities to provide year-round service as needed.
    • Oversee and manage key RBM communication channels, both internal and external, with ongoing assessment for effectiveness and cost efficiency.
    • Manage the budget, costs, and vendor relationships.
    • Ensure that all communications activities adhere to RBM and Rio Tinto Group policies, standards, and procedures, including compliance with approval and escalation processes.
    • Serve as the official RBM media spokesperson when required and participate in Business Resilience activities.
    • Actively contribute to the departmental leadership team, including participating in development of overall team responsibilities, and deputize for the General Manager as needed.
    • Keeping abreast of international best practice, technologies and industry trends.
    • Proactively research relevant best practice and processes, recommending translation of these in the strategic framework of the unit

    What you’ll bring

    • Minimum of 4 years Communication, Public Relations, Marketing or related degree
    • MBA or Masters in relevant field of study (advantageous)
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience with the following:
    • In a Public Relations/ Internal & External Communication role
    • Experience working in a global/multinational organisation
    • Understanding of emerging markets
    • Knowledge of data analytics, platforms & Techco environment
    • Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices
