Sales Engineer at Derrick Corporation

Derrick Corporation’s African office has a vacancy for the abovementioned position, we provide mining equipment to the Mining and Industrial industry across Africa. Our growing company is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our African team. The position is based in Centurion, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa; successful candidate will have to reside in the same region as the job require to be in office daily. The job will require extensive traveling both locally and internationally. A three-month probation period will precede permanent appointment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to national and international sales.
• Prepare tenders and quote documents.
• Technical and commercial negotiations with customers.
• Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and relationships with customers.
• Select and analysis potential projects.
• Collaborate with local and international Derrick sales team.
• Provide technical support to customers.
• Preparing and delivering technical presentations to prospective customers and conferences/shows.
• Equipment commissioning locally and internationally.
• Participate and engage in lab and site testing programs. Be familiar with testwork and sample procedures around screens.
• Conduct technical meetings with customers and generate metallurgical technical reports.
• Generate sales weekly report in CRM system.
• Maintain good collaboration with Buffalo aftersales support team.
• Compile with all QHSE legislations, regulations, and standards.

Requirement & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years work experience in mining, metallurgy, EPC project or related fields.
• Experience in sales activities in a project engineering environment.
• Tertiary qualification in metallurgy, chemical, mechanical or related qualification will be advantageous.
• Industry relevant knowledge on mineral processing.
• Ability to travel internationally on short notice.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient with MS office skills.
• Highly analytical, self-motivated, customer focused person.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Person must be in excellent health to allow free access to mining sites.
