Safety Supervisor - Centurion at AFGRI Equipment

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING    

• Grade 12
• SAMTRAC qualification
• Relevant risk and compliance certification (ISO)
• Relevant diploma or degree in Risk Management advantageous
• Incident Investigation Level 3

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE            

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a  safety and risk management position

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS        

• Ensure legal appointments align with OHSA regulations
• Verify the proper functioning of the SHEQ System, adhering to FRESH regulations and IT standards
• Validate the accuracy of information loaded into the system
• Draft the FRESH, ECM, FSM and RSM training schedules in collaboration with the Training Manager
• Implement and maintain HACCP principles, ECS and SANS 3000-1 Standards for Grain Management
• Develop baseline HIRA's and Environmental Impact Assessments for each GM site and conduct annual reviews of HIRA and EIA in accordance with OSHA guidelines
• Facilitate annual medical assessments for each GM site
• Investigate OHSA and RSM incidents and near misses, prepare and submit monthly reporting of incidents to the risk committee
• Contribute to the annual SHEQ, ECM and FSM audit planning cycle, sign off audit findings and ensure their implementation
• Integrate any additional health and safety requirements or 16.1 requests and implement ISO 45001 and ISA 22001 as needed
• Draft and implement SOP's for ECM, FSM and RSM conduct ECM system audits and ensure the implementation of findings
• Ensure annual registration and renewal of PCO’s
• Ensure that annual water sample collection and reporting is done
• Prepare the site for FBO registration and compliance
• Ensure quarterly reports are submitted to the rail regulator
• Draft and update the annual Safety Improvement Plan (ASIP)
• Execute Ad hoc projects received from Line Manager, investigate and provide advice on any legislative queries pertaining to risk and safety
• Recruit and appoint competent employees, manage and monitor employee performance standards, identify training and development needs and ensure fair disciplinary processes to address deviations
