    Assistant Quality Manager

    Minimum Requirements

    • Tertiary qualification (Food related) 
    • Experience in Quality Assurance systems 
    • Legislation knowledge related to Poultry and Manufacturing premises. 
    • Food safety training.
    • Knowledge in statutory, site specific environmental standards.
    • Knowledge of food processing procedures.
    • Specific job skills standards as contained in the Food Safety and Quality system. 
    • Food processing hygiene standard as contained in the Food safety and Quality system.
    • Advance Computer literary required (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and good e-mail ethics)
    • Self -motivated and ability to work independently.
    • Adequate comprehension of applicable statutory standards applicable to the workplace, environment and employees.
    • Competent on job specific in-house job skills.
    • Detail and accuracy orientated.
    • Planning and organizational skills
    • Problem solving skills
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Willing to work overtime
    • Good record keeping

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Daily Checks (Quality Documentation and Competency)
    • Assist with managing of all Quality employees on site.
    • Ensure Quality procedure and processes are adhered to.
    • Identifying and/or addressing problems/areas of improvement in the quality systems followed in the plant.
    • Ensuring a high level of hygiene is maintained throughout the processing plants.
    • Report workers not adhering to the required standards.
    • Enforce disciplinary action /corrective action when necessary.
    • Participate in documentation audits - ensuring procedures, work instructions and FPF's /QAF's correlate 
    • Conduct weekly plant inspections and keep record of findings and corrective actions to be implemented. 
    • Maintain the food safety and quality systems
    • Writing and follow up on corrective actions for third party audits 
    • Verification of product specifications 
    • Follow up on corrective actions of KPI's and Pick - ups 
    • Handling of all queries from external service provider's such as pest control, laundry services, chemicals and Labs
    • Customer complaints control- Investigating, compiling report, feedback and identify trend
    • Responsible for monthly management product presentation
    • Assist Quality Manager with other adhoc duties.

    Breeder Farm Supervisor Boschpoort

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Numerical Literacy is essential in this role
    • A degree in Agriculture is greatly valued and beneficial.
    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in the area of Rearing /Laying
    • Relevant poultry courses will be beneficial.
    • A good understanding of modern farming methods, a commitment to animal welfare and an interest in, and understand of, the ways in which farming impacts the environment.
    • Ability to apply the basics of poultry effectively on site
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word) would be advantageous.
    • Capability to analyse operational reports and data and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Proficiency in English (Verbal & Written) is essential in this role. 

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Effective management of the site which includes but not limited to:
    • Record keeping and reporting to Manager (mortalities, egg collection sheets, daily stats, water consumptions, feed orders, etc.) on a daily basis.
    • Ensure that the assets and installations are maintained and in good order, thorough knowledge of function / tasks / equipment.
    • Ensuring livestock is treated humanely, and in compliance with company standards (monitoring feedings, spillages, report deviations, vaccinations)
    • Coaching and monitoring employees to help them develop clear understanding of standards/requirements relating to Animal Welfare, Food Safety and Quality.
    • Training staff as per schedule
    • Planning daily work activities and organising duties on site
    • Effective communication 
    • Decision making within authority level and company procedures
    • Time management on site as well as guiding others to manage their time effectively
    • Managing IR/ HR matters of site
    • Ensuring the site complies with Health & Safety regulations
