Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members; providing highly experienced and efficient clinical services and psychological support to participants, their families and supervising assigned team members whilst adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.

Technical Work Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise comprehensive, safe and effective evidence based clinical procedures to achieve identified health outcomes
• Manage all activities required for the implementation of the research study
• Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the South African Nursing Council and the Health Professions Council of South Africa
• Enforce the rights of all participants and maintain cultural sensitivity
• Plan, evaluate and manage clinical procedures in consultation with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide comprehensive reports and recommendations on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of processes
• Provide Health Education and Raise Awareness
• Supervise Clinical Staff
• Support Clinical Associate
• Assist with Demand Generation and Mobilising Activities
• Attend meeting platforms and assist with presentations
• Guide and provide technical advice on VMMC, its drug administration, Drug-Drug interactions, Contraindications as well as Adverse drug reactions.
• Implement Quality Improvement measures
• Provide Health Education and Raise Awareness
• Adhere to Confidentiality and Privacy (POPI Act)
• Completes daily time sheets
• Complete Leave Forms
• Assist with Transporting the Clinical Team
• Support with Adverse Events
• Stock Management
• IPC Control and Waste Management
• Willing to work overtime

Requirements

SELECTION CRITERIAEducation

• Diploma in Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing Degree
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council
• Trained in VMMC (Certified)

Advantageous

• Advanced diploma in Primary Health Care
• Good Clinical Practice Certificate 
• HIV/AIDS Counselling and Management Certificate or Similar

Experience

• Minimum 4 years’ related experience and training
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical or public health research
• Extensive counselling experience
• VMMC Trained – 2 years’ experience

Requirements

• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle
• Overnight Travel when required
