    Principal Specialist: Reputation & Stakeholder Management

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To ensure reputation measurement  
    • To build and maintain Vodacom's relationships with key stakeholders through strategic engagements, profiling initiatives and managing select issues.
    • To identify issues and/or risks to stakeholder relationships and Vodacom’s reputation as soon as they arise so risks can be mitigated.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Ensure Reputation Management 
    • Develop and maintain a database of key stakeholders to be engaged in pursuit of Vodacom strategic objectives
    • Identify, evaluate and document issues affecting relations between Vodacom and its key stakeholders
    • Establish a process to ensure that recorded issues are directed to relevant departments for resolution and thereafter responses and feedback is sent to stakeholders
    • Develop a calendar of key events (including conferences) that present opportunities for profiling Vodacom Group and its executive leadership
    • Monitor Vodacom Group’s reputation amongst the key stakeholders and contribute to the maintenance of a positive reputation for Vodacom
    • Conduct research and analyse outputs to positively contribute to improving stakeholder engagements and reputation management
    • Develop and manage the production of a portfolio of corporate material to be used as collateral for stakeholder engagements

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric
    • Degree, Diploma in Public Relations / relevant discipline
    • Postgraduate Qualification (Advantageous)
    • 8 - 10 years relevant experience in Government Relations/Public Affairs/Public Relations / Reputation Management with at least three years direct lead in managing relations with stakeholders.
    • Good knowledge of the Telecommunications Industry (Advantageous)

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

    • In-depth knowledge of reputation management / measurement and stakeholder engagement principles
    • Good communication skills – being able to clearly present recommendations and insight to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills – experience in writing briefing notes and speeches.
    • Strong analytical and reasoning skills – must be able to interpret research data, corporate information, financial and economic information.
    • Good command of Word, Excel and PowerPoint – must be able use all three to develop talking points/briefing notes and presentations.
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Project management
    • Budget management
