    Microsoft Exchange Specialist

    Job Description

    • Architect, implement, and administer a multi-site Microsoft Exchange infrastructure. Transition current Exchange infrastructure to new versions. Assist in management of Windows Server infrastructure.
    • Apply new solutions through research and collaboration with relevant IT teams and determine course fo action for new application initiatives.

    Define and implement services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise.

    • Administer a multi-site Microsoft Exchange infrastructure
    • Implement solutions for Microsoft Exchange requirements.
    • Provide technical engineering functions associated with Microsoft Exchange systems, application, platforms various databases technical integration.
    • Perform preventative, adaptive and perfective maintenance to ensure the optimal functioning of the Microsoft Exchange platform layer.
    • Manage and execute all service requests.
    • Execute all the changes in accordance with the Department’s change management processes.
    • Define and implement all functions pertaining to the management of security of the Microsoft Exchange platform layer (e.g. authentication).
    • Identify and investigate hardware and software issues, perform root cause analysis and implement an action plan to resolve the issues.
    • Resolve and appropriately complete assigned cases and change requests and act as an escalation for support issues.
    • Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.

    Continuous improvement to ensure effective service

    • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, practices and procedures.
    • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
    • Analyze market trends to constantly improve the Specialty customer value proposition offerings.
    • Streamline and integrate existing business processes and systems
    • Keep abreast of market trends and business development opportunities
    • Identify needs and develop business cases for Specialty business based on market opportunities
    • Create collaborative relationships with other departments to determine internal and external process improvements designed to enhance the customer experience and value
    • Optimize departmental performance through targeted business intelligence to ensure that it becomes the primary way of driving performance and execution

    Service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction

    • Maintain service, quality and desired outputs across the business process by ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
    • Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.
    • Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals.
    • Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.

    Ensure cost efficiency through financial and corporate governance

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of fit for purpose budgets.

    Manage quality people practices

    • Align own behavior with the organization culture and values.
    • Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues and team members.
    • Collaborate and work with the business to deliver required service levels.
    • Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.

    Job Requirements :Experience, knowledge & skills required

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.
    • 4 – 5 years’ experience as an IT Infrastructure support specialist with extensive experience in Microsoft Exchange server installation, configuration, deployment and administration.
    • Experience implementing and managing Exchange 2007/2010/2013; transition experience a plus.
    • Experience managing an email archiving solution;
    • Strong understanding of Active Directory administration, structure, permissions, and best practices.
    • Experience with patch management using tools like Systems Center,
    • Familiarity with data management, including SAN storage replication, backup and recovery, and disaster planning;
    • Practical understanding of ITIL and Cobit
