Legal Advisor, Card & Payments at Standard Bank Group

Job Description

• As a legal advisor for Card and Payments, you will draft and negotiate bespoke legal documents with internal product teams and agreements with merchants, card networks, payment service providers and other parties in the payments environment, as well as drawing up client-facing terms and conditions that relate to new payment-related products. You will work closely with internal business stakeholders and your expertise will be invaluable in navigating the payments environment, assessing the impact of new payment legislation, and proactively identifying potential legal risks. You will also represent the Bank in industry forums that relate to payments.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Type of Qualification: Post Graduate Degree
• Field of Study: Legal

Experience Required

• 5-7 years proven experience in providing legal advice, drafting, vetting, review, negotiations, identification and mitigation of legal risk.
• 1-3 years exposure to the National Payments System. 
• Experience with the Payments Association of South Africa (PASA), Card Schemes, or other payments regulatory forums will be advantageous.
