    Human Capital Executive

    Job Purpose

    This role shapes the Human Capital strategy that supports the business strategy, leads and delivers all HC’s practices and objectives. It is responsible for the development and implementation of processes and reporting metrics that enable the achievement of the Company’s business goals whilst establishing an environment in which its employees can thrive and grow.

    Critical to this role is the design of talent management frameworks inclusive of strategic workforce planning, performance management, reward and remuneration, competencies and skills for current and future business requirements succession planning and key role pipeline development. In ensuring the business is future fit, will also deliver the change management and organisation design and effectiveness capability.

    This role requires strategic people management thought leadership and advisory, and hands on operational capability.

    • Change leader - Plan and drive strategic change in the business; Ability to manage stakeholders and advocate for employees; Organisation Design and effectiveness,

    • Culture Driver: stimulates and provides stewardship of the required culture in support of the business strateg
    • Relevant tertiary qualification (Post Graduate Degree)
    • 5 years of senior management leading experience in Human Capital
    • Experience in working with business leadership and leading a Human Capital team.
    • Commercial acumen.
    • Proven experience developing strategy and implementing a strategy
    • Ability to coach, influence, and inspire.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
    • Experience in entry-level market (Financial Services)
    • Registration with HPCSA, SABPP or IPM is an advantage

    Knowledge

    • Sound knowledge of HC-related legislation, BCEA, LRA, etc.
    • Working knowledge of HC practices and best practices.
    • Experience in managing HC-related projects from concept to sign-off and implementation.
    • Ability to lead change in the organization through transformational leadership.
    • Experience in commercial and strategic business insight
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation, tact, and an ability to deal with difficult situations.

    Key Outcomes

    • Work with the CEO and fellow executives to strategically plan and deliver on human capital initiatives that will serve the strategy and SAFRICAN business objectives
    • Serve on the executive management team, attend executive meetings, and provide operational and strategic people-related insight to the executives
    • Apply subject matter knowledge, research, and expertise to find innovative ways to make the organisation more efficient and effective
    • Design and implement a strategic workforce plan to ensure that the right capabilities, resources, and expertise are available now and for the future.
    • Leverage the COE’s in Retail Mass and Sanlam Group Office to ensure delivery of Safrican Learning & Development, Organisational Effectiveness, and Talent Management strategic actions

     

    • Accountable for developing, aligning, and managing the implementation and measurement of a business goals enabling culture for Safrican
    • Knowledge management tools are optimised to document processes and review current workflows and value chains to ensure client-centric delivery of business goals.
    • Establish and drive a change management capability to provide support to the business during any structure or organisational changes.
    • Develop and lead the implementation of a change recipe to empower and equip Line Managers to lead and take ownership of changes in their areas.

    Talent Management

    • Deliver and gain approval for the talent management strategy and business plan for Safrican.
    • Support the Executives with input and subject matter expertise relating to recruitment, talent pipeline development, and performance management during the development and delivery of the HR strategy for Retail Mass, and Sanlam as a whole.
    • Work with the Executives to deliver and gain approval for talent management initiatives and succession plans that will support the strategic and business objectives.
    • Establish and embed an effective team structure that can guide, service, and support business units in respect of human capital-business strategy.
    • Identify improvement opportunities, ensure succession planning and drive performance from the team.
    • Create and maintain a positive, innovative team culture/environment where human capital best practices are adopted.
