    Group Reward Head

    Role Purpose:

    This role leads the collaborative effort across all Divisions in the Group to evolve and refine a competitive Total Reward & Benefits strategy to meet the challenges of an ever-changing talent landscape and demands.

    • To develop the FirstRand Group Reward strategy and build an impactful employee value proposition in South Africa, 10 other African countries as well as India, the UK and the USA; ensuring equity and fairness in remuneration while understanding the legislative and other compliance frameworks across all jurisdictions.
    • To design differentiated total rewards and benefits strategies to attract and retain a new generation of employees, and job profiles with very different expectations of compensation and ways of working, continually evaluating the effectiveness of incentive, share and recognition schemes for the very different needs of a retail, asset management and investment bank.
    • To direct research and provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership in all areas of reward and to grow a practice leading team and an environment of continual learning.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum qualification: Degree with a bias toward numeracy, analysis and data interpretation
    • Experience in a large corporate that operates internationally and deep specialization in remuneration.
    • Exposure to international markets is a plus as is exposure to benefits, global remuneration, international mobility, executive remuneration and the writing of remuneration reports.
    • Experience in supporting Remcom and providing concise and accurate reports to the remuneration and other board committees is beneficial.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Strong networking capability for relationships within and outside the business, globally and locally.
    • End to end knowledge of the full human capital value chain e.g., organisational development and design, talent acquisition and management, performance management, and learning and development.
    • Global Remuneration Professional Certification.
    • Strong knowledge of key pieces of legislation e.g., Labour Law, Basic Conditions of Employment, King IV, etc.
    • Experience in applying equal pay for equal work legislation and providing coherent answers to questions around the wage gap and gender and race pay disparities
