About the job

We are looking for a Front-end Developer who is passionate about the web and have a keen eye for design who creates solid HTML and CSS, to join the eCommerce team within the Mr Price Apparel division.

A day in your life?

• Write and maintain HTML,CSS and JavaScript for the mrprice.com website together with other digital platforms.
• Collaborate with the design team to showcase quality, responsive HTML content to our valued customers.
• Develop new user-interface features to give our customers the best shopping experience possible with the latest technologies available.
• Build reusable code and libraries to ensure that code is reused effectively in order to maintain time efficiency.
• Optimize the applications for speed, scalability and search engine friendliness to ensure we rank well on Google, and that our content is viewable on any device.
• Working on the company's eCommerce Content Management System & e-mail marketing platform, as well as offering basic support to merchants.
• Creating quality mock-ups and prototypes that can be used for new website layouts and creative concepts.
• Communicate effectively with teams within the ecommerce space to ensure all dependencies are met.
• Set up business and online exclusive promotions as required
• Provide SME guidance to creative teams in design reviews.

What experience we’re looking for?

• A completed IT or related qualification preferred
• 2-3 Years minimum experience in related role Eg. Web Designer, Front End Developer
• An excellent understanding of HTML and CSS.
• Experience with Bootstrap 3 and 4 framework
• Coding of email templates
• Up to date with the latest SEO best-practices
• Experience Using CMS. Eg Magento, Joomla, WordPress or Shopify
• Proficiency using graphics software Adobe Photoshop.
• Interest and familiarity with web trends and technologies.
• A keen eye for design and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Able to work under pressure and to ensure that all tasks are delivered on time.
