    Financial Administrator: Salary Coding

    Critical Performance Areas 
    Assessment of source documents 

    • Analyse and interpret information provided by Human Resource if is in accordance with established policies, rules and regulations. 
    • Verification of calculations on termination and employment e.g. part time contract of source documents. E.g., copy or original source documents if are compiled in accordance with salary scales and allowances table. 

    Implementation of salary transactions 

    • Effect changes in salaries, allowances and deductions. 
    • Capturing of tax method monthly or annually. 
    • Implementation of statutory deductions. 

    Execute payments 

    • Prepare documentation to request payment. 
    • Calculate salaries and compile an electronic payment request. 
    • Compile journals and roll back documents. 

    Distribution of payslips/IRP5s 

    • Distribute monthly payslips/IRP5s per day and also retrieve, emailing and give print printouts. 

    Information Monitoring 

    • Safekeeping of source documents (Filling) internal and external. 

    Customer Service 

    • Answer salary related queries from staff and service providers. 

    Minimum Requirements 

    • National Senior Certificate with Mathematics or Accounting (NQF level 4). 
    • Post matric qualification will be an added advantage in Finance/Accounting. 

    Experience

    • Three (3) years’ experience within payroll environment. 

    Knowledge and skills 

    • Knowledge of ITS Payroll experience. 
    • Ability to handle confidential information. 
    • Rules, regulations and policies of salaries department. 
    • Basic Tax knowledge. 
    • Conceptual skills. 
    • Must be computer literate. 
    • Have good communication skills. 
    • Identification and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work within a team and independently. 
    • Accuracy and numerical skills. 
    • Professional and trustworthy.
