Finance Manager, Sustainable Impact at Exxaro Resources

Position Overview:

• As the Finance Manager, Sustainable Impact, you will be at the forefront of managing the financial and commercial affairs of our SI function. Your role will encompass overseeing our mines in closure and rehabilitation, subsidiaries, non-profit organizations, investments, and more.
• You will be instrumental in driving our financial health, risk management, and strategic sustainability goals.

Minimum Requirements    
QUALIFICATIONS:

• BCom (Hons) Finance (Essential/Minimum or)
• BCom (Hons) Accounting (Essential/Minimum or)
• BCom (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
• Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE:

• 8-10 years Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the mining or natural resources sector. Strong understanding of sustainability principles and their financial implications.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex problems in a dynamic environment. Commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and corporate social responsibility (Essential/Minimum) Management

Duties & Responsibilities    
Ideal Candidate Profile (Includes but not limited to):

Ability to:

• Accountable for the financial and commercial affairs of the Sustainable Impact (SI) Function, including its mines in closure and rehabilitation operations, subsidiaries, non-profit organisations, various investments, licencing requirements, diverse assets, liabilities, and capital obligations, to contribute to the company's overall financial health, risk management, and long-term sustainability.
• Provides strategic support and technical financial expertise across all sustainability portfolios and initiatives at Exxaro.
• Monitors and reports on the financial performance and outcomes of all sustainability initiatives, highlighting opportunities for improvement and optimisation, and ensuring financial and management forecasting and budgeting integrity, legal and regulatory compliance, and alignment with Group financial objectives and with strategic SI priorities, environmental and social goals.
• Accountable to collaborate with and provide financial oversight, guidance, assurance, and regular financial performance reports to immediate colleagues in the best interests of the SI function within the context and financial risk appetite set by the Chief Sustainable Impact Officer.
• Serves as the point of contact for the Corporate and Operational Finance teams, Supply Chain Management, Internal Audit and other relevant teams regarding all SI budgeting, reporting, financial assurance, financial audits, and other support requirements.
• Accountable to lead the SI Finance and Accounting teams towards the successful delivery of its strategy, creating an environment conducive to delivering Exxaro’s SI growth and revenue ambitions while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
