    Entrepreneurial Schools Initiative (ESI) Lead

    Objectives of Role

    Design and plan ESI initiative

    • Establish and oversee Proof of Concept (PoC) projects based on collaboratively developed designs, ensuring clear learning outcomes and focus. This will involve multidisciplinary teams comprising internal talent and/or external experts as necessary.
    • Assess the feasibility of the initiative and proposed solution through early, real-world testing, demonstrating small-scale success, while testing and refining elements of the design to plan for scalability.
    • Align the ESI strategy with the unit's goals and overall strategy, understand the policy landscape and relationships necessary to drive change within the entrepreneurial learning ecosystem, and identify the resources required to achieve goals.

    Knowledge managment

    • Facilitate internal knowledge sharing and storage by implementing efficient systems and practices and ensure effective management of the database to maintain accurate and accessible information.
    • Oversee all contracts associated with the ESI initiative by negotiating terms, ensuring compliance with legal and
    • organisational standards, monitoring contract performance, and managing relationships with all relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and alignment with programme goals.
    • Support the current research agenda for the ESI initiative by coordinating ongoing studies, providing resources, and ensuring alignment with objectives.
    • Identify and propose new research focus areas as needed, based on emerging trends, gaps in knowledge, and strategic priorities, to continuously enhance the initiative's impact and relevance.
    • Contribute to capacity and capability building for the maturation of the incubating initiative

    Initiative reporting

    • Monitor and track the initiative's progress using the incubation maturity matrix to ensure it is advancing according to predefined developmental stages and benchmarks.
    • Manage the ESI initiative's progress towards the Theory of Change (ToC) by systematically aligning activities and outcomes with the intended long-term goals and impact envisioned.
    • Track the initiative against set milestones by systematically monitoring the progress and achievements relative to predefined targets.
    • Provide ESI reports and presentations as required, ensuring comprehensive and insightful documentation of project activities, progress, and outcomes

    Technical expertise

    • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the entrepreneurship education eco-system by possessing deep knowledge of the interconnected network of stakeholders, institutions, policies, and resources that collectively support entrepreneurial learning and development.
    • Possess extensive expertise in programme design and implementation.
    • Design initiatives that resonate with young people by incorporating their perspectives, aspirations, and preferences. This entails crafting programmes and projects that are engaging, relevant, and meaningful to their interests and needs.
    • Proficiency in engaging with diverse stakeholders across all levels, demonstrating the capability to effectively collaborate, influence, and build consensus. This includes adeptly navigating varying perspectives, priorities, and interests to foster cooperative partnerships and achieve shared goals.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Honours Degree / NQF level 8 in relevant field.
    • 5years relevant experience entrepreneurship or philanthropy with experience in leading initiatives, programme identification, monitoring and evaluation and entrepreneurial/enterprise development.
