    Demand Creation Officer - Kwazulu Natal

    Description

    • Right to Care requires the services of a suitable qualified, well-motivated and results-driven candidate to be appointed in the above-mentioned vacant position based in Kwa Zulu Natal

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Create collaborative relations with key DOH and other stakeholders (CSOs, CBOs, NGOs, private and business sector, DSD, DBE, COGTA including other government departments and institutions) Demand Acceleration Leads at Provincial and District levels
    • Create a map and list of key demand acceleration partners and stakeholders and ensure each district has a Stakeholder Matrix and Contact List
    • Support advocacy and campaigning activities and ensure civil society participation in community dialogues, trainings and digital advocacy (Vax Champs) activities
    • Implement community engagement activities and community mobilisation strategies for different programmes at RTC.
    • Align Community Engagement, mobilisation and retention plans to the various district contexts as well as audience needs in a human-centric design approach
    • Develop recruitment plans and ensure that campaigns are aligned to various district contexts as well as audience needs in a human-centric design approach.
    • Develop and implement an induction programme to the integration of behavioural change and context-specific approaches to biomedical applications.   Develop and implement a strategy for linking unvaccinated individuals including undocumented individuals and people with other vulnerabilities into vaccination in liaison with RTC team and other provincial vaccinating teams 
    • Develop and monitor the implementation of a hybrid model to ensure that social mobilization/demand creation activities are happening at facility level, also through ward-based/community mobilization..
    • Implement community engagement activities and community mobilization strategies for the ADAPT programmes.
    • Develop social mobilization plans and ensure that they are aligned to the district/sub-district and facility vaccine plans..
    • Ensure that social mobilization plans are aligned with the ADAPT integration strategy.
    • Work with Community-Based Organizations and Faith-Based Organizations (CBO/FBO) to support social mobilization activities in the D2 health facilities, schools and surrounding communities in the supported district and facilities.
    • Track district demand acceleration plans and targets for RTC and CBO teams and ensure remedial plans are developed and implemented weekly
    • Provide support demand creation support to CBO/FBO and implementing partners
    • Develop implementation models that address programmatic gaps within DATT in the supported district, sub-districts and facilities.
    • Work with Vaccination DSD teams to align demand creation plans with vaccination plans
    • Organize relevant demand creation supplies, and equipment for supported facilities
    • Develop and adapt provincial demand acceleration tools, SOPs and other management tools
    • Ensure that community engagements and advocacy efforts are well documented and produce one success story per district per month
    • Ensure District Demand Acceleration Plans and schedules for RTC and CBO teams are synchronised with vaccine teams from RTC and other partners schedules
    • Work closely and liaise with the RTC Provincial Vaccination Team Lead, the District leads and the direct line manager
    • Ensure increase community vaccination up-take
    • Document all collected issues in order to empower the broader community so as to overcome social determinants of health and thereby attain health equity and social well-being     Monitor, track and report on RTC provincial demand acceleration activities weekly, monthly and quarterly
    • A comprehensive understanding of all RTC programmes, its key personnel and focus areas to identify opportunities for an integrated approach to programme implementation.
    • Develop and implement, in collaboration with other technical specialist for integrated strategies to incorporate behaviour and social science in different RTC programmes.
    • Develop implementation models that address programmatic gaps across various partnerships.
    • Implement evidence-informed social science approaches to RTC programmes. This includes the documentation of evidence and results for program interventions.
    • Assist with the development of an M&E platform to monitor and strengthen RTC’s research department.
    • Develop a platform of innovation hunting that is easily accessible to all RTC programmes to share success stories and build a knowledge-centre on-demand creation successes and opportunities.
    • Assist in building and managing an energetic and motivated team of reliable professionals who develop, pilot, experiment and report on inter-disciplinary approaches to RTC programmes.

    Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12) and a diploma/Degree in Marketing, Communications or Public Health
    • A valid South African driver’s license endorsed with a  PrDP(Professional Driving Permit) is compulsory
    • Two years experience in organising and overseeing health promotion events, activities and projects at a community level cultural specific context
    • Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and local vernaculars
