    Automation System Support Specialist

    About the job

    • Connectivity Hardware: Ensure Certiq & RRA hardware (Wi-Fi antenna/bridge) is functional and associated cabling is not damaged.
    • Connectivity Firmware: Ensure Certiq & RRA firmware is up-to-date, and all configuration options are correct. Support the customer in resolving software bugs that may be associated with firmware. changes.
    • Connectivity Validation: Ensure Certiq & RRA are fully functional I.e. all available data points are being recorded correctly, drill plans can be transferred over the wireless network to the machine.
    • Navigation Hardware: Ensure Leica navigation hardware is functional and associated cabling is not damaged, I.e. Leica Bluetooth antenna, communication module, rig prisms, tunnel prisms, navigation station.
    • Navigation Firmware: Ensure Leica navigation firmware is up-to-date, and all configuration options are correct. Perform calibrations on the total station, rig prisms and tunnel prisms when necessary.
    • Navigation Validation: Ensure navigation functionality is working as expected.
    • Machine Automation Hardware: Ensure all machine automation hardware is functional and associated cabling is not damaged, I.e. sensors, actuators.
    • Machine Automation Firmware: Ensure machine automation firmware is up-to-date and configuration is correct. Support the customer in resolving software bugs that may be associated.

    • Underground Manager: Ensure Underground Manager application is up-to-date and support customer on new functionality. Identify existing issues in drill plan creation and support the customer in resolving these issues.

    Knowledge And Experience

    • Very strong technical background:
    • Very good knowledge and experience on TMM
    • Very good knowledge and experience on 24Vdc control circuits on TMM.
    • Very good knowledge and experience on electrical circuits up to 1000Vac
    • Computer literacy, good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
    • Good customer relations.
    • Good telephone manners and skills
    • Interpersonal skills to work with customers and suppliers and to work as part of the Technical Support team.
    • Develop a strong track record in value adding services with tangible results. Be able to work independently without supervision.
    • Be presentable to customers in grooming and dress code.
    • Go the extra mile attitude, never run away from a problem.
    • Pass medical checks to be allowed to work in underground condition.

    Education

    • Grade 12
    • Technical qualification (Trade Test)
    • Experience on underground TMM equipment.
    • Extensive travel will be the order of the day and one would be required to spend the majority of their time in the field. Temporary relocations can be expected. This position will also require the individual to work underground.
