The RCL FOODS Talent Acquisition Team is searching for a Regional Technical Advisor to join the vibrant Consumer, FoodSolutions Division. This role will be based in Bedfordview.

The Regional Technical Advisor will be responsible to provide specialist/technical expertise in developing recipes and solutions in line with RCL FOODS and the customer Channel Strategy.

In addition they will be required to provide detailed information, advice, and direction to organizational leadership and technical team skill development. Lead and collaborate cross functional teams in achieving set strategy. Provide Guidance and development path to the Apprenticeship program.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric.
• Craft Baking NQF 5
• Certificate in (Craft and Fermented Baking / Practical bread faults / Basics in Baking / Basics in confectionary.
• Institutional baking courses, either South African or American NQF 5.
• 5 years in a bakery management function.
• 5 years craft and Retail Baking experience.
• Valid Code EB drivers’ license.
• Ability to write and present training interventions.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Business to Business technical support service
• Demonstrates the quality and advantages of the RCL Foods products towards potential and existing customers at top level
• Promotes products according to RCL strategy
• Develops products for RCL customers, in line with customer’s strategy
• Contributes significantly to the innovation pipeline/portfolio.
• Customer Complaints:
• Dealing with customer complaints and provide resolutions when requested through Investigation and thereafter provide recommendations to lab team.
• Technical Support:
• Provides technical assistance to RCL Customers
• Provides technical assistance to the Milling R&D team
• Provides technical support to Inland Technical Advisors and apprentices
• Assist the Milling laboratory with technical expertise and fault finding
• Recipe development of prepared mixes and finished products to customers specs
• Training / Support:
• Supports the design of training materials and training solutions internally and to externally (Customers Staff)
• Provide training/capacity building of Technical Advisors and apprentices
• Training in admin systems and production planning
• Conduct large group trainings e.g.: at customers training centers
• Support Technical Advisor/ Apprentices where needed
• Upskilling the Technical Advisor Team to meet / maintain minimum skill in order for them to execute their role requirements efficiently.
• Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare monthly schedule of activities, & maintain a map of daily detailed reports regarding the tests and demonstration conducted.
• Research and analyze market information regarding market trends, competitive activity and requirements for the development of new and existing products
• Complete mandatory Handheld Technology requirements.
• Team Coordination and Self-Management:
• Take ownership and accountability for tasks; territory and activities.
