Looking for a Desktop Support Technician / Junior Systems Administrator with 3+ years experience in the Fourways area.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensuring continuous status tracking of progress through the applicable management tool utilised on a daily basis
• Train and guide staff on hardware and software usage
• Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the office workstations
• Document internal procedures
• Assist with creating and managing company employee accounts and assigning group in Active Directory
• Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and any additional specialized equipment
• Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
• Maintain and resolve issues on LAN/WAN, VoIP telephone, Biometric, Video systems and other computing equipment.
• Assist in technical upgrading and maintaining of entire organizations systems.
• Maintain passwords, data integrity and file system security for computing environment.
• Assist staff with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktops, laptops, peripheral equipment and software complying with given standards and guidelines.
• Improves operations by recommending changes in existing systems, policies and procedures based on understanding and analysis of existing systems
• Support in testing and deployment of new applications and systems.
• Continual learning and implementation of tools and systems as requested by IT management
• Implements security measures, special software and tools
• Ensure backups are correctly configured to ensure the organization does not suffer data loss
• Assist in the updating and maintenance of computer inventory and surplus equipment
• Assist in the identification and repair of hardware and network connectivity issues
• Ensuring that all organizational environments are available for development, staging and production as and when required within reasonable time frames provided by management or leadership roles.
• General Office maintenance when required

Requirements:

• Grade 12, relevant post-matric qualification advantageous
• 3+ years experience on Desktop hardware, server hardware, Networking and related software
• A broad knowledge in Computer Networking, Server Applications and Operating Systems
• A systematic approach in general IT fault finding
• Valid drivers licence and own transport
