    Data Analytics Senior Associate

    Job description

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Data Analytics Senior Associate who will work under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer. The Data Analytics Senior Associate will initially be responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of student academic data. In time, they will begin to support data analysis and reporting across a variety of functions across multiple schools and regions. In the academic function, this person will provide teachers and academic leaders with actionable, real time, data-driven insights to ensure that we are always able to meet the individual needs of our students so that they are always growing on their journey toward becoming leaders and innovators.

    In This Role You Will

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • Design processes and systems for gathering, analysing and reporting student academic data
    • Produce in-depth analysis of student academic data (including NWEA MAP data) and report the insights to Teachers, Deans and School Leaders in user-friendly and actionable way that will allow them to adjust existing methodologies or develop new ones to address student academic needs
    • Develop assessment mechanism(s) and dashboards/reports across all grades
    • Develop methods for analysing and reporting on a broad range of evidence of student learning, as guided by the Chief Academic Officer
    • Design and develop a system or instrument for the measurement and evaluation of student culture across schools
    • Coordinate technology needs for testing (MAP, etc)
    • Provide training and support for Teachers and School Leaders in understanding and actioning insights gained from your analysis
    • Build and maintain strong information databases and analytic tools

    About You

    You have the following skills and qualifications:

    • You have a strong background in Math, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management and Design or Data Analytics, or related fields and/or have professional experience in one or more of these fields
    • You have 3-4 years relevant quantitative work experience
    • You are highly analytical, creative and structured in your thinking
    • You have high expectations when it comes to quality and accuracy of data and insights derived
    • You have experience working in an education environment and/or curriculum development (ideal but not essential)
    • You are comfortable with a high degree of flexibility in working and communicating with people across multiple schools and regions and across diverse streams of work
    • You take a systems-thinking approach to your work - you are able to bring many process elements together to create a holistic and harmonious system
    • You have strong project management skills and you are able to coordinate and manage many moving pieces
    • You love a challenge and get excited about the prospect of tackling tough problems
    • You are highly efficient in MS Excel, you have a strong affinity for technology and are able to troubleshoot a multitude of technical platforms, systems and software.

    The Process Is As Follows

There are a series of stages in the Nova Pioneer interview process and candidates will be moved forward in the process depending on their success in the previous stage.

    Phone interview: a short conversation to understand your skills and experience a little better.
    Practical demonstration of what you can do: you will complete a written task or a demonstration related to the role you are applying for. Teachers participate in a half-day selection day at one of our campuses as well as deliver a lesson to a class.
    In-person interviews: at this point you will visit one of our schools to meet the team and participate in a series of in-person interviews.
    Final interview: you’ll have a final conversation with the hiring manager before decisions are made.
