    Project Controls Manager

    Job description

    Overview / Responsibilities

    Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Project Controls Manager with experience in the Mining and Metals industry.

    • Ensures procedures / systems are established and maintained for planning, cost engineering, project accounting and document control within projects and studies
    • Manage proactively, audits and ensures satisfactory provision of planning, cost engineering, project accounting and document control services within projects to the satisfaction of the PM and MPC&S and in accordance with company and project procedures
    • Define the basis and strategy on which work packaging and coding is to be carried out for planning, cost engineering, project accounting and document control to meet specific project requirements consistent with proper and efficient control
    • Establish and maintain clear reporting / lines of communication for planning, cost engineering, project accounting and document control within the project
    • Establish / maintain contact with client project controls management to ensure that client requirements are being satisfied in a professional and ethical manner
    • Monitor ongoing / audit of the project controls and ensure mitigating actions if required
    • Ensure implementation and maintenance of the applied project control system
    • Assist the PM with contractual claims and disputes
    • Monitor, control and report project progress in accordance with company and project matrixes
    • Provide mitigating actions for progress slippage
    • Generate monthly project progress reports, including progress s-curves, histograms, cost reports and earned value
    • Recruit key personnel for the project in consultation with the PM, MPC&S and company HR department
    • Train and mentor the project controls team to ensure that the project control needs of the project are met and that outputs are maximized

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) OR
    • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
    • Certified Cost Professional (or equivalent) OR
    • Scheduling Professional (or equivalent)
    • At least 10 years’ experience on large projects
    • Hands-on experience in a least project costing or project planning
    • Thorough understanding of the principles of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge
    • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
    • Analytical with attention to detail
    • Ability to implement systems, processes and procedures

    Quality Manager

    Job description

    Overview / Responsibilities

    Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Quality Manager with extensive experience in the mining and metals industry.

    • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
    • Develop, implement, communicate and maintain quality plans to bring the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with quality system requirements from clients
    • Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization
    • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation
    • Bring together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures
    • Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA / QC
    • Identify business processes, assign QCP’s with the assistance of technical and project specialist and manage the quality assurance thereof
    • Agree hold points and reviews for a group of business processes and manage the release or re-work of the technical work
    • Setting a compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved
    • Co-ordinate continual improvements of the QMS, ensuring that evidence of corrective and preventive actions taken are recorded and reviewed
    • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement
    • Liaise with the external assessment body on all matters related to the external accreditation process if and when instructed to
    • Ensure that a document control procedure is adopted to approve, review and update all changes to critical documents within the scope of the QMS
    • Ensure that records are established and maintained to provide evidence that the QMS is being followed and that there is a system in place for the identification, storage, protection, retrieval, retention time and disposition of such records
    • Ensure that the performance of the QMS is reviewed at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. This review means assessing
    • Ensure that Quality Objectives are set by top management for measuring the performance of the QMS and that these are regularly reviewed
    • Ensure that all new staff are inducted into the requirements of the QMS related to their own roles and responsibilities. Provide update training as necessary
    • Ensure that all suppliers used by the organization are selected, evaluated and re-evaluated and those records of this assessment are maintained
    • Ensure that an internal audit programme is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to planned arrangements, QMS arrangements and is effectively implemented and maintained. Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case
    • Analyse data on the effectiveness of the QMS and evaluate where continual improvements of the QMS can be made. This shall include data generated as a result of monitoring and measurement and from other relevant sources
    • Write technical and management systems reports
    • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
    • Organize and manage quality assurance function in close co-operation with the customers and with the Company’s Management team (Member of Management Team)
    • Liaise with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications
    • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
    • Manage and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods
    • Agree standards and establish clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply
    • Define quality procedures in conjunction with all staff
    • Set-up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures
    • Collate and analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters
    • Identify relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training
    • Ensure that top management undertakes periodic but regular assessments of customer satisfaction and those consequent improvements are identified and implemented

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in an applied science or engineering field
    • 5 years prior experience in Quality Assurance for consumer product manufacturer
    • Demonstrated experience working with all engineering, equipment and construction disciplines
    • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
