    Production Controller: Beverages

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    To realize production objectives of a section in the production department by conformance to product specifications/standards and effective staff management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Motivate, train and informed staff who by means of teamwork contribute to manufacturing products according to specifications. 
    • Preparation and Processing equipment operate according to machine and product specifications. 
    • Ensuring manufactured products conforming to standards and specifications.
    • Workplace improvement objectives through MECP are met; Meetings are held according to specifications
    • Management of the team's time and attendance on a daily basis

    QUALIFICATIONS

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

    • Core knowledge: Safety rules and regulations, Food Safety, Government policies on Safety Health and safety legal compliance, Project management, Risk management
    • Academic: Grade 12, Mechanical Maintenance qualification, Supervisory qualification eg TMA
    • Experience: 3 years' experience as a manufacturing Supervisor/Team leader, management of subordinates (human skills), experience in the mechanical maintenance of equipment.

    Product Technologist: Baby Nutrition

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    You will be responsible for the successfully development of good quality, sustainable, and cost effective products that are informed by a clear NPD brief. You will be expected to deliver on tasks on multiple project work streams within confined timelines, taking the lead role for supplier interface within the business/category, supporting and occasionally standing in for the NPD Manager to prioritise and drive projects to completion.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Work with suppliers to develop and source new raw materials that are specifically suited to the product ensuring that the raw materials have the necessary Certifications (Halaal / Kosher etc.)
    • Play a strong role in external customer interface
    • Provide Category Marketing with all key information necessary for designing consumer product research 
    • Develop formulations based on product concepts provided by Category Brand teams with claims and regulatory restrictions in mind and make a prototype of the product
    • Calculate NI’s and GDA’s and ensure back panel of packaging is correct
    • Determine plant requirements and aid with capex (capability) requirements
    • Draw up development recipes and submit to Finance for approval, after which ensure all recipe data is loaded into our R&D system
    • Conduct ambient and accelerated shelf-life tests
    • Send samples for micro testing and for independent lab testing to ensure claims can be met
    • Correct and timeous completion of documentation and ensure it is filed correctly (Raw Material
    • Circulation form, Trial request, trial report etc.)
    • Conduct pre-trial meetings with the unit and thereafter conduct online trials to determine capability of the plant. Ensure that the prototype developed is able to run online.
    • HACCP studies – communicate any sensitive raw materials / changes to the plant or processes
    • Interface strongly with Supply Chain to prioritize and execute CI and process optimization projects
    • Identify opportunities for the substitution of new raw materials in current products
    • Work with outsourced manufacturers for 3rd party projects
    • Employ sustainable design techniques in the development of new products (e.g. life cycle design, design for recycling, reduced waste, etc.)

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE

    As a Senior Brand Manager, you will report into a Marketing Manager.

    You develop and execute brand plans while trying to achieve sustainable and profitable growth for your brand portfolio. You will achieve this by leveraging consumer and shopper insights to craft brand/s that consumers love, and by executing compelling brand plans that are delivered through exceptional brand experiences in terms of innovation, communication and activation.     • Identify, define, develop, deliver & track insight-driven innovation and renovation that is accretive to the brand and category (volume, value, profit). This includes defining the product & packaging solution, for customer team the trade solution, and for consumers compelling communication
    • Partner with the Consumer Insights team to generate brand-relevant insights from all touch-points; including market & internal analytics, competitive intelligence, consumer behaviour, trend data and other appropriate sources
    • Lead creative agency through the Communication Strategy process for your brand(s), culminating in the deliver of a Communication Strategy sign off and campaign judging and sign off of above-the-line and below-the-line campaigns vs the agreed brand blueprint
    • Ensure key day-to-day Brand Management tasks are executed fully and to a high level of quality including S&OP forecasting, media planning, customer promotion tracking, Marketing Investment spend and management, quality tracking, brand health and share tracking and range management
    • Forge strong internal and external partnerships, with colleagues, suppliers and key stakeholders to drive brands growth
    • Manage the development and coaching of junior report

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Process Optimisation Engineer (FMCG-Cape Town)

    THE JOB AT A GLANCE:

    You are responsible for applying technical expertise to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing unit in order to maintain and improve operating efficiencies, reduce cost and improve sustainability. You will assist in the design of processes for new and existing products. You will write capexes and implement projects to align with engineering strategies, standards and frameworks. You will optimise operating systems to enable safe, efficient and effective operation of facilities and infrastructure throughout its lifecycle. You will support the team with data capturing, trending and analysis. You will support MECP through the Focused Improvement Pillar and be the pillar lead for PMC. You will be based  in a manufacturing unit reporting into a Plant/Manufacturing Manager with a dotted line to the Process Engineer

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Perform data analysis, root-cause analysis and identify and implement process improvements to support issue resolution and optimizing production processes to eliminate losses, improve quality, capacity, throughput and conversion cost.
    • Conducting process capability studies to establish optimal product rationalization on production lines and provide input to the production planning team
    • Review and optimise the yield and mass balances for the oat mills
    • Understand the manufacturing technology in the category and work with technology, maintenance and production teams to resolve issues relating to product quality, process capability and efficiency challenges
    • Evaluate manufacturing processes and utilities consumption by measuring, analysing and trending data.
    • Work with the R&D, Technology and Quality teams to support the design of  new systems and processes for the introduction of new products and the improvement of existing processes. Assist in trial design, execution and reporting.
    • Write capexes and implement projects
    • Evaluate the impact of projects on current processes, and develop and implement appropriate changes relating to operating, safety and quality procedures. Manage the MOC process
    • Facilitate Process risk assessments, i.e. HAZOP
    • Develop Processing/Technical Standard Operating Procedures for the Operational team
    • Support the relevant teams within the MECP pillars to enhance problem solving and provide technical solutions to critical issues.
    • Pillar lead for the PMC pillar
