    The purpose of the Community Scholarship Scheme is to invest in further education initiatives for individuals within our direct communities. The scheme supports top students from the community to obtain a tertiary education in any field of study at a recognised & registered Higher Education and Training Institution (mainstream South African University or University of Technology).

    Protection Officer; C Lower; VUS_KPS1083/22GS

    The role:

    The role is responsible for ensuring the protection of the company's employees, visitors, and associated property.  Protection Officers are tasked with patrolling a designated area, responding to security threats, and instituting a security presence.

    Key Tasks:

    • Manage access of people and vehicles.
    • Ensure that visitors sign in upon arrival and exit in addition to conducting bag searches at the end of shifts.
    • Assist with effective contractors’ supervision
    • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.

    • Valid Firearm competency certificate
    • Minimum 3 years of uninterrupted service within Protection Services / Security or similar role
    • In-depth experience as a Security Officer

    Operator Excavator; B Lower; VUS_MMS128/22GS

    The role:

    To execute production activities according to the Schedule and operate the physical assets and equipment as defined by HSEC requirements, the Operation’s standards and operating procedures

    The duties will include but are not limited to:

    • Operate the excavator machine
    • Loading of truck as instructed
    • Execute the production and / or logistics activities according to the Schedule and only where competent to do so

    • Remove / clean spoils / materials from the high wall
    • Build safety beams to divide roads
    • Transport topsoil

    You will need:

    • Grade 12 with Mathematics
    • Valid driver’s license is essential

    • Minimum of 1 year experience in operating an Excavator within a mining environment

    Production Geologist; D Lower; NDC097/22SK

    The role:

    The role is for effective acquisition of geological data for the operation, enabling geological modelling and reporting and identification of any problems related to geological features.

    Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • Promote safety through participating in high level SHE reviews, recommending appropriate actions where necessary, keeping abreast of SHE industry best practices and ensuring communication to all stakeholders
    • Manage geological data acquisition to ensure data integrity and enable geological modelling of the ore body

    You will need:

    • BSc Hons/ BTech in Geology (NQF Level 7)
    • Professional registration as a Natural Scientist with SACNASP
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a geological role within the mining industry
    • Exploration and production experience in both, opencast and underground mining
    • Knowledge of mine planning and metallurgy
    • Experience with Geological modelling software like, but not limited to: Stratmodel, Microstation
    • Knowledge of all relevant mining legislation incl. Mine Health & Safety Act, Minerals & Petroleum Resources Development Act
