Child Of Employee Scholarship; VAR121/22GS - KPS at Seriti

The role:

The purpose of the Child of Employee Scholarship is to invest in further education initiatives for Seriti employee’s children. The scheme supports a Klipspruit Colliery employee’s child to obtain a tertiary education in any field of study at a recognised & registered Higher Education and Training Institution (mainstream South African University or University of Technology). 

Application Requirements (Who can apply?):

• Current Grade 12 learners that have been provisionally accepted for study at a registered Higher Education Training Institution (HET) for 2023
• University students that are currently studying towards a Degree/Diploma in any discipline and in any year of study at a registered HET
• Sponsorship is available for accredited courses only (courses that meet the standard of the (NQF) National Qualifications Framework)
• Selection will be based on academic performance
• Most recent results with a minimum average of 60% is required
• No bridging or foundation programs/courses will be sponsored

You will need:

• Valid South African ID
• Certified copy of the most recent Grade 12 report/Matric Certificate/Academic Record of the previous academic year
• Brief CV
• Letter of provisional acceptance or proof of 2023 registration issued by an accredited mainstream University or University of Technology
• Proof of residence (copy of municipal water & lights, or a letter from a Council member or Chief)
• The Klipspruit Colliery employee’s details (full name, surname, and company number) are required

Value of Bursary:

• Accommodation allowance
• Meal allowance
• Book allowance
• Pocket money
• Tuition fees for 2023 (excluding the previous year’s failed subjects/modules and 2022 outstanding tuition fees and interest charged)

Terms & Conditions:

• Student must pass studies, failed subjects are not sponsored
• Seriti has no obligation to provide vacation work
• No work back obligation for students upon completion of their studies
• Only one child per family will be eligible for sponsorship
• Specific focus will be placed on students from our communities
• Applicants that are beneficiaries of any other sponsorship program are not eligible for this sponsorship
