    Specialist/Manager: Contract and Asset Management

    Position Purpose:

    • Directing and managing all activities related to the acquisition process for all information and related resources. Determines plans and selection criteria for enterprise computer systems (services, hardware and software). Performs extensive financial analysis for cost-effective acquisition ICT hardware, software and related services. Maintains and organizes databases and procedures to track and control IT contracts and assets (hardware, software and peripherals) from inception to decommission and disposal or disengagement.

    Position outputs:

    • Prepares technical demand requirements and related scoring models for ICT hardware, software, services and related resources procurement
    • Manages IT asset lifecycle and all aspects of related contract execution
    • Ensures timeliness and quality of documentation concerning IT contracts and asset transactions
    • Creates, maintains, and organizes a database and files for contracts and IT hardware and software assets
    • Works with senior management to review IT resources (hardware/software), expenditure levels on volume purchase agreements
    • Negotiates cost-effective changes in hardware and software, based on analysis of present and future needs
    • Oversees development, implementation and maintenance of a process for monthly allocation and chargeback of information systems equipment
    • Manage activities in conjunction with procurement, financial and legal departments in analysing proposals and negotiating vendor contracts for acquiring hardware/software resources
    • Oversees development and maintenance of tracking system for hardware/software acquisition, including for related services and actively tracks all assets

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Related B Degree in Information Technology or Commerce

    Recommended Certifications:

    • Certification in ITIL Foundation or
    • Certification in IT Asset Management Foundation

    Experience:

    • 5-8-years’ experience in contracts or vendor management environment:
    • Contract and vendor management experience
    • Strong business relationship management abilities
    • IT asset management

    General:

    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Willing to Travel
    • Willing to work extended and after hours in support of production issues or deadlines where needed

    Competencies:

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of contract regulations and laws and internal PPM (procurement procedures)
    • Knowledge and experience in the Tender process particularly in large / SOE organisations
    • Broad working knowledge of current IT technologies
    • Effective bartering and negotiation skills, eye for detail
    • Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors
    • Ability to deal with internal stakeholders i.e. Legal, Finance, SCS and Line Management
    • Budgeting, inventory, and cost-management skills

    Senior Manager - Business Portfolio Mngt (Re-advert)

    Position Purpose:

    • The incumbent will lead, manage, direct and improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of TNPA excellence and efficiency objectives. They will be responsible for executing the ICT Strategy, Methodology and Framework for all operational systems (e.g SAP, Integrated Port Management Systems (IPMS) etc.) The incumbent will be responsible for owning and directing improvement projects related to the operational systems. They will be responsible for managing the operational support, maintenance, and development activities for TNPA business applications and, researching latest trends on business systems and optimize value to TNPA.

    Position outputs:

    • Improve the operational systems (e,g,SAP, IPMS, and own inhouse systems ) to support of TNPA's strategic objectives.
    • Support better utilisation of all systems by providing a resilient backbone on which to run critical systems
    • Lead and manage execution of strategies for the service delivery of SAP ERP and non-ERP applications across TNPA application portfolio.
    • Manage Service Delivery using an informed approach to improve outcomes for ICT customers utilising business applications.
    • Ensure quality of practice meets contractual operational level agreements (OLAs), legal obligations and Transnet/TNPA policy and procedures.
    • Coordinate and participate in monitoring, review and audit processes related to Service Delivery Business Applications
    • Identify and evaluate issues impacting on achievement of Business Application objectives and to continue to improve services.
    • Manage ITIL based incident, problem, configuration management, and ensure release and version control standards are implemented across all business application systems.
    • Takes a leadership role in setting service direction, ensures standards and security policies are maintained and systems and solutions are compatible with TNPA standard information systems architecture, tools, policies, and procedures.
    • Develops support plans and implementation strategies to meet the ICT needs of all end users.
    • To manage application budgets effectively.
    • To manage change due to change in applications across the business.
    • To manage all contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers and partners in providing efficient service for the Applications supported.
    • To manage availability, reliability and efficiency of business applications.
    • To develop application roadmaps in line with TNPA applications standards.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems/ Financial Information Systems/ Business Information or Post Graduate Diploma in IT.
    • ITIL Certification
    • 10 years' experience in at least two ICT disciplines in a multi-tier environment, with which 5 Years’ experience in management role.
    • At least 2 Years’ experience in systems development role.

    Competencies:

    Knowledge required:

    • Knowledge of port business is an advantage.
    • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, analysis and design.
    • Understanding the vision, goals and critical success factors and other performance measures of TNPA in order to ensure that information is made available to support these.
    • Understanding of the core capabilities and functions of SAP S/4Hana .
    • Expertise in MS Excel and PowerPoint
