    Senior Professional Officer- Finance

    Requirements

    • A relevant B degree / BTech in accounting / financial management
    • Postgraduate qualification and Municipal Finance Management
    • Minimum Competency will be an added advantage
    • A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in financial management
    • Knowledge of MFMA and all relevant legislation,regulations and policies
    • Advanced computer literacy and knowledge of SAP financemodules.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Coordinate and compile the annual operating and capital budget
    • Consolidate monthly management reports on actual financial performance against budget
    • Perform tasks to effect financial control of the Directorate’s finance activities, processes and procedures
    • Coordinate financial and audit matters
    • Monitor capital and operating expenditure for the departments according to relevant legislation and Council policy and procedures
    • Manage the staff that provide a financial support function to the departments within the Directorate
    • Administration of key performance area and result indicators associated with assets.

    Project Manager(Senior Professional Officer) - Spatial Applications

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a B degree
    • Minimum of five (5) to six (6) years’ relevant experience within an IT environment and in applying the project management discipline in a Spatial Applications (GIS) development environment.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Ensure that all projects allocated to him/her are completed successfully within the scheduled time and within the budget allocated to the project
    • Lead or participate in the planning of IT projects and obtain business requirements for the design of IT solutions, or other specialist
    • IT initiatives across several departments
    • Communicate with fellow ICT professionals as well as internal and external clients to work on issues of common interest and/or to share information
    • Draft reports and correspondence to facilitate the functioning of the Branch
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of project team members and other professionals either in the same branch or in other functional areas of the organisation in order to implement programmes and projects, processes, policies and systems.

    Assistant Professional Officer - Events

    Requirements

    • Relevant Tertiary qualification
    • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in a Project/Events/Sports
    • Facility management environment.
    • Experience in an events, film and project management environment.
    • Drivers Licence and own transport essential
    • Proficient and Strong Computer Literacy (MS Office, MS Projects and SAP).
    • Willingness to work outside normal working hours
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and proactively within parameters of policy/processes/procedures and line management delegation.

    Key Performance Areas

    • To successfully coordinate, plan and execute events and filming opportunities;
    • To provide effective operational, logistical and administrative support to the events team
    • Conduct market or industry related research to support the
    • Head/Manager in attracting, hosting and retaining events and film opportunities;
    • Drafting event, delivery and production plans to support the
    • Department in delivery world class events;
    • Conduct pre event site meetings; and respond to queries regarding the Branch services and systems
    • Compiling and maintaining statistical event data and records for the Branch;
    • Coordinate meetings and special projects as directed by line management;
    • Ensure project/event compliance with policies, processes and procedures.
    • Providing event/ project support services to event/filming application at the Stadium.

    Manager - Support Services

    Requirements

    • A relevant B. Degree
    • 5 to 8 years’ relevant managerial experience with proven operational experience.
    • Computer Literacy
    • A valid driver’s licence

    Key Performance Areas

    • Play an active role in driving the service delivery enablement programme of the City by facilitating collaboration meetings between governance programme owners and line directorate; including tracking actions;
    • Provide strategic support in respect of IDP, Service Delivery Business Improvement Program (SDBIP) and Organizational Performance Management (OPM);
    • Engage Corporate stakeholders and internal departments on establishing the directorate risk register;
    • Implementing and trekking of controls to mitigate risks;
    • Provide strategic and operational support and coordinate and assist in cross-cutting projects relevant to the Directorate and the City;
    • Provide linkage between departments in Corporate Finance and bring issues disrupting consolidation of the directorate to the attention of the CFO;
    • Resolve inter-departmental stresses detected, allowing a firm management focus on objectives;
    • Attend meetings on behalf of the CFO and report back on information that is important.
    • Monitor and evaluate the departments adherence to all relevant legislative best practices;
    • Manage the general administrative duties for the operational support function including monitoring and co-ordinate departmental Occupational Health and Safety matters;
    • Manage the preparedness of the CFO at the executive level, both internal and external;
    • Provide for a direct interface with political office bearers and senior management while upholding the responsiveness and integrity of the office of the CFO;
    • Communicate and engage with key stakeholders and facilitate and administer stakeholder engagement initiatives and related projects, practices and processes; including Service Level Agreements and enquiries;
    • Develop relevant systems, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with Policies, implementation guidelines and relevant legislation.
    • Disseminate, manage and coordinate various forms of information to ensure availability and accurate interpretation to inform decision making, including providing and maintaining a records management system
