    Artist & Label Partnerships Manager South Africa

    We are looking for an Artist & Label Partnerships manager for South Africa. In this role you’ll ensure that artists, artist managers, and labels see Spotify as the #1 partner for artist development, promotion and monetization. Focusing primarily on South Africa, you will work closely with the local team to execute pivotal initiatives as well as with your international counterparts on multi-market campaigns.     What You’ll Do

    • Build and maintain best-in-class partnerships across the artist and label community and advocate for Spotify’s interests externally within the creator community
    • Support and educate key partners on Spotify tools and resources to inspire them and maximize their daily business
    • Understand and gain insight of content consumption, user engagement and behaviors by analyzing data and analytics
    • Ensure Spotify has the best possible content offering in the market, and use this to further Spotify’s appeal to existing and new users
    • Ensure priority releases in your territory are available on Spotify from day one
    • Collaborate with the global music teams, as well as local and global editorial teams, to ensure content strategies are localized and successfully executed
    • Work cross-functionally to fulfill strategic company goals
    • Organize masterclasses, attend events and conferences
    • Some travel may be required

    Who You Are

    • At least 5+ years' experience with label and artist relations in an established digital music service, record label, or at a media company in South Africa
    • You possess a flawless level of written and spoken English. Additional languages are a plus
    • Proven record in music marketing and operations, a deep understanding of the local music industry, and have built relevant contacts with labels and artists
    • Strong music and technology background; you are fully conversant in the latest digital marketing techniques and adept at analyzing and interpreting data and using it to set goals
    • Familiar with content management systems and supply chain processes
    • Well organized, dedicated, with the ability to plan and deliver on tight timings and pay outstanding attention to detail
    • Experience working within both local South African and global teams
    • Excellent negotiating, presentation and interpersonal skills

    Editorial Lead Sub Saharan Africa

    We are seeking an expert editorial strategist with excellent people leadership skills who are used to working in a dynamic environment to lead our SSA Editorial Team.

    The Editorial Lead will report to the Head of Music and jointly develop and run local and regional music strategy and operations as well as complete a global agenda to support key aspects of company-wide objectives.

    The candidate will take ownership of Spotify’s music goals and targets for the platform, keeping the music team accountable, and supporting the execution required to reach them. Above all, the editorial lead will push Spotify to be the world-class music offering and will drive the way SSA audiences experience music.

    Qualified candidates will possess a track record of successfully leading strategy for accomplished and diverse teams, have fun at work and a desire to make a positive impact for African music as a whole.

    What You'll Do

    • Help provides a distinct, candid editorial voice to build an outstanding user experience
    • Drive development of new music and content strategies
    • Work closely with the editorial teams to identify and substantiate playlist hypotheses for audiences in South Africa, pan-Africa, and globally
    • Conduct analyses to unearth insights and evolve strategies for long-term planning of music team investments
    • Track and measure performance and investments of the music operation
    • Provide direction on annual and quarterly planning!
    • Ensure clarity of purpose, speed of delivery and empowerment to complete in teams

    Who You Are

    • You have significant editorial experience with an established digital music service, or media company
    • You are a self-starter and are comfortable with dynamic working environments
    • You have comprehensive knowledge of African music and culture trends
    • You are able to strategize across a broad and sophisticated geographic region
    • You have experience in marketing, strategy and operations, music and technology
    • You are a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
    • You possess strong analytical skills, have the ability and drive to continuously source, analyze and interpret data, using it to set performance targets and long-term business goals
    • You are well organized, with the ability to prioritize, plan and deliver on tight deadlines
    • You have a focused approach to executing processes and streamlining workflows
