    • The Product team works at the core of the business to research, design and deliver offerings that our customers love. We are looking for a Product Manager to own the Mobile App (iOS and Android). Your ultimate goal is to establish JaSure as South Africa’s favourite insurance App. You enjoy moving fluidly between strategic thinking and product delivery and execution. You will report to the Head of Product and work daily with a squad of designers, engineers, testers and others. You will be the first Product Manager in a team that will be growing to three PMs by 2024.     Qualifications and experience

    • 5+ years digital product management experience (e.g. Product Manager, Product Owner).
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
    • Experience product managing a Mobile App (Android and iOS).
    • Experience in a start-up environment is advantageous
    • Business and system analysis experience is advantageous
    • Experience in Insurance or Financial Services is advantageous.

    Claims Service Consultant: Desktop

    WHAT WILL YOU DO

    • The purpose of this position is to determine the quantum and merit of segmented non motor claims by performing investigations, verifying the description of the event with the loss, negotiation (with client, intermediary, service providers) and settlement of claims within a delegated threshold and according to contract conditions.

    WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE

    • Accountable for all claim interactions directly with the client/broker. 
    • Determine merits, quantum, item identification, buying.
    • Negotiating and settling of claims with the insured/broker. 
    • Responsible for communicating with the client/broker from beginning to end and is the one contact person for the client/broker
    • Ensures that the claim is handled efficiently.
    • Effectively manages all relevant claims tasks and claims handling process to achieve timely settlement and to minimise leakage
    • Identifies, investigates and resolves any issues relating to claims being handled in line with Santam policies and procedures such as Service Level Agreements, Standard Operating Procedures. 
    • Ensures that the claim is handled efficiently and identify and advise the intermediary/policyholder of the prescribed or most appropriate mechanism for resolving claims settlement disputes.
    • Communicate the process from the start of the claim and act as contact person if the client needs more information

    Manager: Compliance

    What will you do?

    • Our Risk Office (Group Compliance) has a position available for a Manager: Compliance who will be based in Bellville (Cape Town).
    • The Compliance Function is mandated to ensure that the compliance risks (i.e. compliance with regulatory, ethical, and internal and external policy obligations imposed on the Group) are appropriately monitored and addressed by management. A risk-based approach is adopted to ensure that material compliance risks are addressed and mitigated by the business.
    • The compliance function is accountable to the Santam Group Board, through the Santam Group Risk Committee to ensure that compliance risks are appropriately monitored and addressed by management. 
    • This is a Group function which will operate in all jurisdictions where Santam has a footprint in alignment with the necessary mandate. The role of the Manager: Compliance will be to assist the Group Compliance Function in the Execution of the Group Compliance mandate as set out by the Board.

    Head: Operations and Governance

    What will you do?

    • A position of Head: Operations and Governance exists in Santam Group Sourcing & Transformation, a business unit in Santam. This role will be based at the Head Office in Tygervalley and reports directly to the Head: Group Sourcing and Transformation.
    • The role is responsible for the overall management of Group Sourcing operations and governance within the Santam and Sanlam Group. Ensure progress by facilitating internal efficiencies through improved structures and efficient processes. Serving as primary leadership interface with business for Group Sourcing operations and governance. Responsible for implementing and managing the procurement operational processes, systems, reporting capability and procedures. Develop and implement a digital procurement strategy that will enable an efficient and effective procurement team. The incumbent will also be responsible for Facilities Management.

    Financial Information Analyst

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Support the business and support functions with the three -year budget and monthly forecast process and monitoring of results against the long-term strategy targets and reporting on the outcome

    Risk Manager: Specialist Solutions

    What will you do?

    • The Risk Manager will support the Head of Niche to monitor the overall risk profile of Santam Specialist Solutions, by enabling the identification of emerging risks in daily operation of the business. This will be achieved by providing oversight in the form of frameworks, policies, tools, and techniques to support appropriate risk management and control in the first line.     Heavy Commercial Vehicle Field Assessor

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The purpose of this position is to determine the quantum and merit of segmented motor claims by performing investigations, verifying the description of the event with the loss, negotiating with (client, intermediary, and service providers) and settlement of claims within a delegated threshold and according to contract conditions.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Quote and assess damage against a provided or requested quotation.
    • Decide whether to replace or repair part
    • Ability to identify and use aftermarket spares when vehicle warranty has expired.
    • Refer to expert if required.
    • Generate claims report and communicate the outcome with client and intermediary.
    • Determine market value of vehicle for settlement (valuation).
    • Establish outstanding finance details, release settlements and documents for salvage management.
    • Ability to Authorise for repair, cash settlement, replace or write-off.
    • Complete investigative / merit report.
    • Make notes on claims systems, process claims and upload documents.
    • Required to load the order amendments.
    • Responsible to sign off the Final Repair Calculation (FRC).
    • Responsible for posting claims to care.
    • Handle complaints, queries and interaction with clients, intermediaries, service providers, internal stakeholders’ relationship managers, claims committee and options from underwriters.
    • Accountable to manage all Heavy haulage Motor type claims (Trucks, Trailers, Agriculture equipment, etc.)

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Matric/ Grade 12
    • VDQGBSA Membership
    • Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical related studies or Automotive/ equivalent Mechanical or Automotive Body Repair Qualification (Eg. Qualified Panel Beater, Diesel Mechanic, etc)
    • At least three 3 years’ extensive experience in all types of Heavy Commercial Vehicle claims 
    • At least ten (10) years’ experience in the motor claims and or Short Term Insurance industry.
    • Attained product training and knowledge in Liability / Defective Workmanship would be advantageous.
    • Technical skills obtained through training and courses in Heavy Haulage would be advantageous

    Risk Manager: Santam Re

    What will you do?

    • Enterprise Risk Management has a Reinsurance Risk Manager position available, based in the Santam Bellville office.
    • The Risk Manager will support the Head: ERM to monitor the overall risk profile of the Santam Re business, by enabling the identification of emerging risks in daily operation of the business. This will be achieved by providing oversight in the form of frameworks, policies, tools, and techniques to support appropriate risk management and control in the first line. Appropriate challenge is required to ensure that management has implemented the control framework appropriately, and that it operates effectively. This requires specific technical reinsurance and underwriting skills.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • Assist Santam Re in embedding a risk management process to identify, mitigate, monitor, report and escalate key strategic and operational risks within the parameters of the Boards risk appetite.
    • Support the Head of ERM in monitoring Santam Re’s risk profile to ensure that key risks are managed, relevant action taken, and adequate controls have been implemented by management.
    • Overall coordination and aggregation of all key risks within Santam Re for Risk Committee reporting purposes to provide a summary and overview of Santam’s key risks.
    • Developing key risk indicators to pro-actively identify risks and/or to act as early warning signs of events that may occur or risks that are not managed within predefined thresholds.
    • Obtain a good understanding of the external and internal business environment, including strategic and operational goals in order to evaluate and identify any new and emerging risks
    • Obtain, aggregate, and analyze loss events occurring throughout the Santam Re business.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Business Commerce degree or equivalent. 
    • Risk management qualification. 
    • 5 years ERM experience preferred (with solid reinsurance/ underwriting management experience).

    • Support the Head of ERM in monitoring Santam’s risk profile to ensure that key IT risks are managed, relevant action taken, and adequate controls have been implemented by management.
    • Monitor key IT risks, including project risks, and provide appropriate challenge on risk appetite.
    • Obtain a good understanding of the external and internal business environment, including strategic and operational goals to evaluate and identify any new and emerging risks.
    • Focus on internal and external threats and ensure mitigation plans are in place.

    Qualification and Experience

    Finance Business Partner

    Job Description

    • As the Finance Business partner within Broker Solutions (BS) Finance team, responsible for the financial management, reporting, data and regulatory reporting, the role is requires the delivery of quality, accurate and complete management reporting, which will enable the understanding of the BS business and enhance the strategic, risk and financial management of the business.

    Key Responsibilities
    The key responsibilities include the following:

    Monthly financial management reporting. 

    • Reporting that is in accordance with the Santam Group requirements, accounting policies including IFRS and Regulatory requirements.
    • Setting up processes to ensure efficient and effective delivery of reporting requirements by Business Units within the required Group Reporting timelines.
    • Support the financial reporting requirement where business change necessitates reporting changes.
    • Variance analysis and reporting of revenue and expenses.

    Forecast, Budgeting, Scenario planning and Analysis

    • Effective and efficient quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting 
    • Supporting the BS Business with financial planning, scenario planning, and strategic business case development.

     Other Reporting Responsibilities:

    • Team management, training, mentoring, and coaching.
    • Coordinate the monthly financial reporting to the CS Business and Santam Group Exco.
    • Coordinate the quarterly financial reporting to the CS Board.
    • Ad hoc data analytics and reporting.

     
    Qualifications and Experience

    • CA or CIMA qualification
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in a financial department
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis/ management reporting
    • Experience in setting up financial reporting processes
    • Experience in data validation, accuracy and completeness reporting is strongly recommended
    • Insurance industry experience is strongly recommended
