    Senior Internal Auditor – Life & Investments

    Job Description

    The role has responsibility for the delivery of audits in the Life & Investments portfolio within Old Mutual Limited (OML).
    This role will support the Audit Lead and Audit Managers in executing on audits and managing stakeholder relationships.
    Only candidates with previous financial services industry experience will be considered.

    Delivery of Services

    • Contribute to the development of the portfolio/s audit plan including the update and maintenance of the audit universe and identification of emerging risks;
    • Execute and deliver the audit plan and management requests timeously;
    • Contribute towards the Combined Assurance Plans for the relevant portfolios;
    • Ensure audits are conducted as per the GIA Methodology and that the quality and performance standards are maintained at all times;
    • Delivery of impactful audit reports with well thought out management actions and due dates;
    • Facilitate the agreement of audit findings and ratings with the relevant stakeholders;
    • Analyse root causes of issues identified and make recommendation to management to improve the control environment accordingly as necessary;
    • Execute on the issues assurance plan and ensure it is executed timeously and within quality standards.
    • Support the Audit Lead and Audit Managers in managing stakeholder engagement and relationships across the relevant portfolio/s; and
    • Manage the portfolio/s GIA stats process and monthly reporting process by engaging line 1 and line 2; and
    • Comply with IIA Code of Ethics and GIA Policies and Procedures.

    Qualifications & Professional Affiliations

    • Relevant University Degree
    • CA (SA), CIA would be advantageous

    Experience

    • Non-negotiable: Must have prior working experience in the financial services industry, for example Investments, Asset Management, Life Insurance and Property Management.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in auditing and / or risk management (ERM)
    • Knowledge of the regulatory environment
    • Experience of client relationship management at senior levels

    Consultant: Claims

    Job Description

    • To deliver a world-class customer-focused and quality claims service by attending to phone calls and interacting with customers.
    • Take inbound (First Notification of Claim) and make outbound calls in accordance with predetermined schedules
    • Telephonically take customer through the claims process – this would involve immediate resolution of claim (where appropriate).
    • Deal with all customers in a professional manner in strict accordance with the business culture, products and quality standards
    • Manage time and workloads to ensure that deadlines and targets are met.
    • Be personally responsible for reaching set targets.

    Senior Actuarial Specialist - Product & Risk

    Old Mutual Group Assurance (GAP) is a leader in the Group Risk market. This market position has been achieved through a focus on consistency in service excellence and product innovation in group risk products.

    Old Mutual Group Assurance Products (GAP) is seeking an experienced actuarial student to fulfil the role of a Senior Actuarial Specialist, supporting the GAP Product & Risk Actuary. The incumbent will be involved in regular product reviews and product maintenance with the focus being to maintain GAP’s excellence in product management. The incumbent would also be responsible for the pricing of large group risk arrangements and assisting with the development and implementation of the reinsurance strategy (both long and short term). The incumbent will be expected to interact with clients, intermediaries and internal stakeholders at all levels.

    Core responsibilities of the role will include:

    • Assisting with and input into the development and implementation of a framework for performing regular product reviews
    • Maintenance and/or enhancements of the existing group risk product range; e.g review of benefits and pricing, maximum benefits, policy contracts and terms & conditions
    • Provide thought leadership and actuarial expertise to a cross-functional team reviewing key features of existing group risk product suite
    • Provide technical oversight and support, i.t.o. group risk products to servicing areas
    • Provide support in performing market research & competitor analysis to inform product strategy
    • Identify, manage and mitigate risks (and associated controls) in the business relating to group assurance products & assisting with the reporting thereof to the relevant governing committees
    • Managing of and reporting on both the inwards and outwards reinsurance requirements for the group risk products for GAP; including (inter alia) auto-treaty, facultative and international pooling arrangements
    • Assisting in setting the strategic reinsurance strategy for GAP, both long and short term
    • Pricing of large and complex group risk arrangements
    • Training & development of junior actuarial students

    Requirements:

    • Senior actuarial student making good progress with exams (exceptional candidates who don’t meet this requirement may be considered)
    • Substantial actuarial experience (a minimum of 3 years)
    • Strong analytical and technical skills
    • Ability to run projects independently
    • Ability to work across teams and collaborate with various stakeholders
    • Good communication skills and have the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels
    • Highly motivated and energetic self-starter who is good at working with complex tasks under tight
    • deadlines
    • Exposure to products or pricing roles would be an advantage
    • Group Assurance pricing experience would be an advantage
    • Experience in the Group Risk or Employee Benefits industry would be an advantage

    OMF Branch Manager

    Job Description

    This role manages a team of financial and client relations consultants and all processes in a branch to ensure achievement of objectives and drive overall branch performance. Individually accountable, over periods of 1 day to 3 months for ensuring sales targets and objectives of the team are achieved.

    1. Supports and motivates the consultant team in the branch to drive sales and service of insurance and lending products, as well as referrals and collections and effectively communicating and setting clear expectations on targets and required outcomes.

    OMF IT Lead Support Specialist

    Job Description

    The Lead IT Support specialist is responsible for day to day support and maintenance of OMF’s applications and database infrastructure that are hosted across XenServer, Linux, Kubernetes and AWS platforms.
    The primary purpose of the Lead IT Support Specialist is to ensure the smooth running of the Linux and Kubernetes platforms that supports the DevOps function. The individual will be responsible for achieving results through own efforts relating to all platform related operational tasks.

    Key responsibilities:

    1. Maintain and support all Linux Server Environment, provide system support
    2. Maintain and support Kubernetes and Rancher micro-services infrastructure and hosting platform
    3. Responsible for capacity monitoring
    4. Complete daily system health checks
    5. Maintain system diagrams and relevant system documentation
    6. Manage end-to-end patch management, security of compliance of Linux Server environment
    7. Maintain and manage servers utilizing Salt
    8. Disaster recovery and business continuity
    9. Manage SFTP accounts, integrations and application requests
    10. Monitoring and Management of Infrastructure  and backups
    11. Network, firewall rules changes, management, troubleshooting and integrations
    12. Manage certificates on Linux and AS400 systems
    13. Leads others in technical initiatives across /environments

    Additional support requirements:

    3. Provides 24 x 7 first-line standby / support for production environments.

    Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required

    5. 5-6 years practical technical support experience. Broader knowledge across platforms.
    6. Knowledge of web application hosting (Tomcat, Java)
    7. Knowledge of  DevOps tools and systems (Jenkins, Nexus, SVN, GitLab) adventurous
    8. A good understanding of any of (proof of experience) IT Maintenance and Support functions
    9. Standby availability (after hours)
    10. DR facilitation and roll-out management
    11. Expedition of infrastructure upgrades
