    Senior Manager - Brand Consumer Segments Group Marketing

    Responsibilities
    The Senior Manager: Brand (Consumer Segments) will be accountable to achieve the following:

    • To develop Brand and Marcomms Go-to-Market strategies by segment and by services provided to each segment within the Consumer functions.
    • Develop a marketing mix frameworks 
    • Develop a messaging framework per segment, informed by each stage of the customer conversion funnel. The messaging to be framed according to the messaging matrix as defined in the MTN Brand Strategy. Messaging to be designed such that it will help drive functional and emotional benefits of various segments value propositions in order to consistently improve desire for the MTN brand in all markets where we operate
    • Conduct competitor analysis of Consumer segments in markets where MTN operates and general global Consumer trends;
    • To use market consumer insights to inform the GTM framework. These insights to be drawn from secondary sources of data, as well as from primary data that emerges from the Brand Health Tracking Study and any other research that may be carried out by MTN from time-to-time;
    • To seek approval by the Group Brand and Marcoms and the Group Executives for Consumer functions of all brand playbooks before they are shared with and released by the Group Brand Regional Senior Managers (SMs) before release to the Opco’s;
    • To develop and implement a framework which defines critical routines required for effective and efficient management of Group Brand and Marcoms team members, the Group Consumer functions, other relevant MANCO and external (agency) stakeholders;
    • This must include stakeholder mapping to ensure that all functions and individuals that impact the outputs and outcomes of the role are accurately identified
    • To develop tools, such as dashboards, to monitor adoption and implementation of the playbooks by the Opcos’, these tools must be developed in close collaboration with the Group Consumer functions as well as the Regional Brand SM’s.
    •  To develop a mechanism to review issued playbooks and revise and update these, based on inputs from the Group Consumer teams
    •  To contribute to MANCO reports aimed at keeping the MANCO Executive team updated on the work carried out by this role

    Qualifications
    Education:

    • Minimum of 4 - year Business/Commercial/Marketing Degree, or equivalent
    • Post-graduate degree
    • Masters Degree an advantage

    Experience:

    •  5 - 8 years of consumer (B2C) segment marketing work experience in a global / multinational business environment (understanding of emerging markets advantageous)
    •  3 - 5 years of experience in a supervisory / managerial role
    •  Experience in leading change / transformation (marketing) at an operational level advantageous
    •  Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices
    •  Experience in working in a multinational organisation/Group function/other African territories advantageous

    General Manager - Investor Relations Group Finance

    Responsibilities

    The General Manager: IR will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Advise the Group Executive: IR on the potential impact on investors of MTN’s strategy implementation and/or factors such as mergers and acquisitions or dividend changes.
    • Develop strategic insights and analytics to support Investor Relations initiatives and activities.
    • Drive capital and operating market intelligence and trend analysis to enhance strategic decision-making and communications.
    • Represent the views of the local and international investor community to the management team in the development of corporate strategy.

    Investor Engagement Planning and Execution

    • Provide feedback regarding the local and international investment community's perception of how the company is being managed, and their view of its financial results.
    • Support the development and execution of communication plans, aligned to Group Investor Relations, that target different members of the local and international financial community.
    • Monitor local and international operational changes through ongoing contacts with company management and develop local and international investor relations messages based on these changes.
    • Support the planning and execution of high-quality local and international investor events, including quarterly and annual calls, meetings, conferences and roadshows in local and international markets.
    • Prepare local Market Communication and Releases alignment with overall MTN group messages and results. 
    • Communicate local key messages to ensure a good understanding and appreciation of the company.
    • Create presentations, press releases and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors in local and international markets.
    • Create targeted local and international initiatives for identified shareholders.
    • Prepare local senior management to participate in selected analyst conferences.
    • Coordinate comprehensive and prompt response to local investor queries.
    • Address and resolve respective Opco queries as required.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with local and international Stock Exchange representatives.
    • Respond and implement contingency, containment and mitigation measures in the event of a business crisis or issue that is public in nature in local markets, aligned to Group Investor Relations. 

    Performance and Reporting

    • Monitor and report performance metrics for the investor relations function in locally listed OpCo’s as required.
    • Coordinate and drive comprehensive local and international competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation (local share price performance, including price, volume, trends in respective markets).
    • Track market perceptions about the stock and OpCo strategy in specific markets.
    • Provide insights relating to market and competitive dynamics for local and international markets.
    • Monitor and disseminate key analyst reports to Group Executive: IR and senior management highlighting key points.
    • Support and coordinate in the oversight of the production of all annual, interim and quarterly reports, and proxy statements for the local market.
    • Prepare local regulatory reporting reports and submissions.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Minimum of 4-year tertiary degree in Finance/Business Management/Economics
    • MBA or Masters advantageous
    • Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body as required for role   
    • Fluent in English and language of country preferable

    Experience:

    • 8 years senior management experience or more; with at least 5 years in Investor Relations
    • Experience as, or engaging with, sell-side analysts and investors in local and international capital markets
    • Experience in sustainability and governance practices that have relevance to and impact IR
    • Experience in maintaining communication between an organisation and its investors, ensuring transparency and trust through accurate financial reporting and stakeholder management.
    • Strong knowledge of MTN Group and history of the business
    • Experience in Stock Exchange reporting and disclosure requirements.
    • Experience in coordinating integrated reporting.
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.
    • Experience working in a medium to large organization.
    • Track record and experience interacting confidently with senior management.
