    Senior Legal Advisor (IPP Office) - Centurion

    Key Outputs 

    Contribute to and interpret the strategy of the legal department of the IPP Office

    • Understand the strategy of the IPP Office and contribute to the overall strategy of the legal department. 
    • Interpret the legal strategy. 
    • Devise tactical plans to implement the legal strategy. 
    • Ensure that the legal strategy is executed as planned.
    • Devise tactical plans to implement the legal strategy.

    Ensure relevant legal documents related to the procurement process are drafted, reviewed and finalised timeously

    • Direct a team of legal transaction advisors in respect of the IPP Procurement Programmes and lead engagements between the legal transactions advisors and other multi-disciplinary teams
    • Assume responsibility for the procurement process including the procurement documents from inception until signature of the relevant agreements and fulfilment of all conditions to financial close. .
    • Ensure that the following documents are prepared in accordance with best industry practice and applicable laws and regulations: 
    • Request for Proposals (RFP) Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) 
    • Implementation Agreement (IA) 
    • Relevant connection agreements Relevant direct agreements 
    • Any other relevant commercial agreements 
    • Such other regulatory and legal considerations
    • Ensure that the relevant documents are completed whilst considering the risk analysis, project structures and technology choice.

     Effectively handle all issues and queries

    • Attend to all incoming bidder queries and issues prior to bid submission.
    • Ensure that all matters are handled efficiently within the stipulated time frames.
    • Support and assist the IPP office team during bid receiving.
    • Attend the weekly queries meeting to advise on and assist with outstanding matters.
    • Attend to all incoming bidder queries and issues post closure process.
    • Attend to all incoming bidder queries and issues during implementation.

    Support and enable the IPP during the bid evaluation and finalisation process.

    • Advise on the bid evaluation system and criteria.
    • Ensure that a suitable bid process is designed to enable bid comparison.
    • Provide all necessary support to the IPP Office for the efficient and professional management of the evaluation process.
    • Enable the IPP Office to advise the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy on outcomes and recommendations.
    • Assist the IPP office to finalise all agreements following the appointment of preferred bidders
    • Manage and conclude all change requests and other preferred bidder queries from appointment of preferred bidders until financial close.
    • Advise and guide the IPP office in respect of all legal and regulatory compliance requirements in relation to closure process

    Provide support in terms of contract management / implementation. Attend to and resolve all change requests.

    • Ensure that all non-compliance matters are effectively handled. Interact with Eskom and other key stake holders to resolve contract management related matters.
    • Analyse and interpret contractual rights and obligations of various parties in respect of project agreements
    • Advise the IPP Office and Department of Mineral Resources and Energy on matters related to contractual matters.

    Expertise & Technical Competencies

    • Minimum qualification and experience requirements - LLB degree or other relevant post graduate qualification Admitted Attorney/Advocate of the High Court of South Africa A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in a commercial/finance/banking or corporate law field Advantageous Public sector experience an advantage

    Senior Credit Data Analyst - Midrand

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Sourcing of Data

    • Mine Data from Data Warehouses / Data Lakes within the institution.
    • Acquire Data from public sources, other financial institutions, and service providers.
    • Extract Data from the operating Systems of the Bank (e.g. SAP).
    • 2. Credit Lab Data Warehouse
    • Aggregate and organise Data from sources into usable formats for storage and usage in the development of 
    • Credit Risk models and Credit portfolio reporting.
    • Build a library of monthly snapshots of the relevant data sources.
    • Integrate the Data Warehouse with Credit Risk Model systems. 
    • 3. Credit Portfolio Reporting
    • Design, construct and maintain templates providing numeric and graphical output for credit portfolio reporting.
    • Provide accurate and timely updates of completed templates for divisional and consolidated portfolio reporting.
    • Provide data and numeric support to credit report composers to accurately complete portfolio reports.
    • Ensure the accuracy of credit measures and representations in credit portfolio reports.
    • Maintain checklists for the governance of credit portfolio report content.

    Credit Risk Pricing

    • Provide support to the Credit Lab Manager for Credit Risk margin pricing and inputs to the Pricing Working 
    • Committee.
    • Source and confirm Risk inputs to the Pricing Model from Credit Risk Model systems. Ensure the accuracy of 
    • inputs to the pricing model.

    Country Risk

    • Source country and Sovereign Risk ratings from independent service providers.
    • Maintain relationships with service providers.
    • Confirm country Risk inputs to the Pricing Model.
    • Calculate and maintain country Risk limits as per country Risk policy.
    • Maintain Country and Sovereign risk Policy for approval by the Board.

    Ad-Hoc Reporting

    • Source, aggregate and analyse data for ad-hoc reporting requests.
    • Ensure the accuracy of ad-hoc reporting analysis and findings.

    Expertise & Technical Competencies

    Minimum Requirements

    • BCom Computer Science, BSc Actuarial Science / Data Science or similar.
    • A minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in Credit Data Management in Financial services. 
    • Experience within an Analytical team / Credit Lab.
    • Experience as the team lead for the provision of Data.
    • Experience in a Banking and/or financial sectors.
    • Experience in the development of Policies, Credit Models (PD, LGD, EAD and Scorecards)
    • Good knowledge of Data Management Systems (DBMS, RDMS), Analytical Tools like but not limited to Power BI, SAS, SSAS.
    • Experience in designing and drafting detailed Reports and Templates.

    Desired Requirements

    • Experience in a Development Finance environment will be a distinct advantage.
    • Experience in Python and Microsoft R will be an advantage. 
    • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server tools will be an advantage.
