    Junior Epidemiologist

    Description

    Study Design and Analysis

    • Design and implement epidemiological studies and surveys to investigate public health issues.
    • Develop research protocols, including defining study populations, sampling methods, and data collection procedures.
    • Conduct complex statistical analyses using appropriate biostatistical methods and software. 

    Data Management

    • Collect, manage, and analyse large datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
    • Develop and maintain databases for epidemiological research.
    • Implement data cleaning and pre-processing procedures to prepare data for analysis.

    Administration and Operations

    • Provide support on data collection and collation and analysis by utilizing statistical methods and software to analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions.
    • Assist preparation of comprehensive reports and presentations on epidemiological findings including production of monthly epidemiological bulletins for internal and external stakeholders.

    Reporting and Dissemination

    Requirements

    Required Minimum Qualification

    • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
    • Strong foundation in epidemiological methods and statistics.
    • Strong knowledge of statistical methods and software (e.g., STATA, R, SAS, SPSS).or relevant packages.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • The successful candidate will have a passion for public health, a commitment to rigorous scientific inquiry, and the ability to translate research findings into actionable public health strategies.
