    Safety and HR Administrator

    Job Description

    • The successful applicant will perform organization occupational health and safety administration as well as HR benefits administration duties.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • Certificate/diploma in safety management or human resources
    • Fluency in English and Afrikaans/isiXhosa
    • 2-3 years’ relevant experience within a safety/administration environment
    • Valid code 08 driver’s licence
    • Ability to travel when required
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    Occupational, Health and Safety

    • Assist in ensuring compliance with the relevant health and safety legislation
    • Management of safety files for THC sites
    • Assist with safety inspections and risk assessment administration
    • Prepare safety reports on occurrences and provide statistical information the Safety and Admin specialist.
    • Provide general administrative support to ensure compliance with OHS requirements (e.g. appointment letters, online updates, organograms etc.)
    • Assist compliance committees (OHS, etc.) with coordinating OHS activities within the organisation, as required.
    • Coordinate with the training department to ensure that all training requirements are met for OHS compliance, including a training matrix and provision of training as necessary.

    Human Resources Administration Support

    • Reporting on staff benefits processes

    Benefits Administration

    • Manage, monitor, and engage with broker on benefit matters
    • Ensure follow up and timeous payments of withdrawals
    • Support HR team to ensure successful claims for deaths and disability
    • Benefits reporting on all employee accounts
    • Assist with liaising with terminated employees/members for update on delays, outstanding requirements, and payments made

    Job Description

    Psychosocial Counsellor_Durban

    Job Description

    • To provide professional and holistic psychosocial services by assessing the needs of PWID drop in centre’s clients within key populations programme in TB HIV Care, including implementing interventions and processes to meet these needs.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • One-year certificate in Counselling from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Two (2) years’ experience and/or training in working with people who use drugs
    • Must be registered with HPCSA
    • Valid code 08 driver’s license
    • Fluent in English and another South African language

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Performs and coordinates comprehensive psychological assessments and counselling of clients at the drop in centre (DIC)
    • Educates clients on Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT), prepares clients for MAT, and supports clients who are accessing/re-accessing MAT
    • Assists with the identification of advocacy issues
    • Educates clients and their families around harm reduction, substance use, dependence and treatment and maintenance modalities
    • Follows up on referrals from the fieldwork team and management team, with regards to psychosocial needs arising in the course of illness or substance use disorders to carry out interventions and provide feedback
    • Reports monthly to line manager on all work related activities

    Job Description

    • The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the overall functioning of a People Who Use Drugs (PWUD) Programme at a district level.

    Minimum Requirements 

    • Degree in social sciences/health sciences
    • Certificate in project coordination/management or relevant experience
    • 5 years working in HIV prevention and/or treatment field
    • 5 years working in community engagement field
    • Experience in a programme that provides services to PWUD is essential
    • Experience working in a programme that provides services to other vulnerable or key populations is beneficial (e.g. street people, sex workers)
    • Valid code 8 driver’s licence and own transport
    • Ability to communicate in English and ideally Afrikaans and/or isiXhosa
    • Clear criminal record
