    Technical Lead Herbicides

    Job Description
    Role purpose 

    • Support internal and external stakeholders with the delivery of technical data on campaigns, NPI’s and business opportunities
    • Manage execution of Crop Protection Development, technical and demonstration trials
    • Actively participate in design, communication and implementation of technical crop protection offers
    • Plan demonstration trials in consultaions with marketing and sales, and assist to create protocols for these trials in liaison with relevant Technical Product Leads and Area Sales Managers. 
    • Build strong relationships with internal (Senior Technical Field Scientists / Campaign Leads, Area Sales Managers) and external stakeholders (Distribution channel / farmers / Institutes / NGOs)
    • Prepares and provides technical market support and training material for products to maximize sales (USPs).
    • Lead Field Force training, demonstration and local story creation.

    Knowledge, experience & capabilities

    Critical knowledge

    • Agronomist with strong technical background in herbicides.
    • In-depth knowledge of the relevant crop, pests, competitor products and control strategies.
    • Thorough understanding of technical characteristics of  relevant crop protection products.
    • Good understanding of technical and market aspects.
    • Leadership and teamwork in a multicultural environment.

    Critical Experience

    • Experience in the implementation, management and analysis of field trials.

    • Proven track record in a research/development/technical environment. 
    • Experience in practical field execution of trial work.

    Digital Support Specialist - Southern Cape

    Job Description
    Role purpose

    • The Digital Support Specialist will be responsible for providing support to farmers using our farm management and field monitoring platform. This includes onboarding farmers onto the platform, drawing up field boundaries, setting up their accounts, and provide support in using the platform.
    • The position will be based in the Western Cape, preferably near Caledon/Swellendam/Stellenbosch.
    • Crop focus will mainly be winter cereals (wheat, barley, canola), orchards and vineyards.

    Accountabilities

    • Onboard new users onto the platform, including setting up their accounts and providing training on how to use the software.
    • Draw up field boundaries and input them into the platform. This may require travelling to visit farms and gather field boundary information.
    • Provide ongoing support to users, including answering questions and troubleshooting any issues they may have.
    • Collaborate with the rest of the support team to continuously improve the platform and the support experience for users.
    • Other duties as assigned: data entry, data enquiries, database management, etc.

    Qualifications
    Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

    Critical Knowledge

    • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as agriculture or geography

    Critical Skills

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in both Afrikaans and English
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision and accuracy
    • Passion for agriculture and technology
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
    • Willingness to travel to visit farms to onboard and support users with the platform.
    • Goal and achievement orientated with a strong desire to meet and exceed expectations. 
    • Attention to detail to ensure data and reports are accurate and precise. 

    Critical Experience 

    • Strong computer skills and proficiency with common office software (e.g. Microsoft Office)
    • Experience with farm management, field monitoring platforms or geographic information systems (GIS) (preferred, but not required)

    Critical success factors & key challenges

    • Own reliable travel to visit farms, driving on gravel roads.
