Key Responsibilities

• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Ensure QA duties are fulfilled (unit testing, usability testing, performance testing, automated testing)

What will make you successful in this role?
Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years relevant experience working on financial applications
• Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field

Desired Skills

• Design highly scalable software solutions to improve functionality and system longevity
• Collaborate with project managers to implement end-to-end solutions for complex projects
• Experience in agile and scrum development cycles
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience in production support, trouble-shooting, Splunk and after hour support on a rotational basis

Technical Competencies

• Knowledge of Java 1.8, JavaScript, JSF 2.2, for most service and front end development
• Java JDE Intelli-J, Eclipse, Netbeans etc for code development
• Experience working with Quarkus and RESTful API’s to integrate various microservices in a production environment
• Comfortable with data exchange protocols like JSON and XML
• Proficient understanding of source control systems and versioning such as Bitbucket 5, git
• Familiar with ESB tools such as Mule, Apache ServiceMix and Apache Camel
• Bamboo, Apache Maven, XL Deploy for build, deployment and configuration
• WildFly 10.1 Web Server Installation and Configuration
• Experience with Angular, JSF, Primefaces, HTML 5, CSS for web development
• Working knowledge of Database tools such as SQL Server and SQL Server data tools for ETL & BI development
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Suite of tools such as JIRA
• Containerisation technologies such Kubernetes and Docker in AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Familiar with in-memory databases such as Redis

What will you do?

• Checking all Mandates and FICA for completion
• Opening of all new accounts on BDA, XPLAN & MAIA
• Processing account and mandate amendments on BDA, XPLAN & MAIA
• Processing account closures
• Loading of fees
• Mailbox management and distribution of tasks
• Reviewing new accounts and client maintenance changes
• Dealing with all client queries
• Assist with monthly payments
• Assist with the processing of journals
• Assist with the checking of accounts for funds for monthly payments
• Attend to and resolve queries
• Assist with adhoc requests / tasks

What will make you successful in this role?

• Experience within Private Wealth Industry
• High level of accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualification And Experience

• Tertiary and/or industry related qualification would be an advantage (with Finance/ Accounts)
• Matric (essentially with Maths / Accounting an advantage)
• Basic understanding of the Private Client business and the stock-broking environment preferable
• Experience within financial services industry is essential

Knowledge And Skills

• Computer literacy - MS Office
• Working knowledge of BDA / MAIA an advantage
• Knowledge of a private client process and procedures
• Knowledge of the back office functioning and advantage
