    Pest Control & Hygiene Technician - Eastern Cape (Port Elizabeth)

    Description

    • Ecowize Pest Control and Hygiene Division is looking for a experienced and certified Pest Control Technician.
    • The purpose of this role is to determine the best treatment regarding pest control and ensure the highest quality of service is delivered to the customer. 
    • The Pest Control Technician must ensure that all services are planned and completed in line with the customer agreements signed. Be accountable and responsible for equipment and consumables used to complete the services.
    • You will be responsible for inspecting buildings and the surrounding property for signs of insects, rodents and other pests.
    • Then determine which treatment is best and use the proper baits or traps to remove them.
    • Spray chemical solutions, powders, and gases on or near surfaces of a building or house to eliminate pests.
    • Identify invading pests, including rats, termites, snakes, wasps, ants, spiders, mosquitos, or bed bugs.
    • Set mechanical traps and place bait. Remove dead rodents after extermination. 

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • P-Registration with Department of Agriculture.
    • Pest Control Operator experience essential.
    • Able to work flexible hours and overtime.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel.

    Industrial Relations Specialist (JHB East Rand)

    Description

    • To ensure that processes and procedures in Industrial Relations are adhered to on a company-wide level. Minimizing risks to the business from a dispute resolution standpoint by ensuring that correct and consistent processes are maintained at all times. Training and Development of internal management in IR processes. Representation and attendance at internal IR forums / proceedings, and external dispute resolution forums. Lead Industrial Relations / Employee relations expertise to the business within area of responsibility.

    Job Description

    • Industrial Relations responsible for maintaining good relations with employees and unions.
    • Managing and leading Union and Management Meetings
    • Development and Implementation of the site IR & ER Strategy.
    • Be the specialist on disciplinary / grievance procedures.
    • Pro-actively identify areas of potential conflict.
    • Curate and advise on collective bargaining.
    • Facilitate the management and promotion of fair and sound Labour Relations.
    • Curate and advise on Disciplinary processes.
    • General IR advice to management.
    • Compiling of legal documents.
    • Represent the company at CCMA and brief attorneys to assist with labour court disputes.
    • Manage relationships between management and employees and lead initiatives to improve relationships between management and employees.
    • HR administration as and when advised by the Group IR Manager.
    • Coordinating and leading meetings between Management and Unions.
    • Ensuring record keeping of all IR/ER related proceedings and maintaining a database e.g. Minutes, disciplinary documents, agreements etc.
    • Drafting agreements reached at meetings.
    • Liaising between Union and Management to keep dialogue open.
    • Making recommendations regarding way forward discussions.

    Requirements
    Job Requirements:

    • 3-year Degree/Diploma in HRM/ Industrial Relations.
    • 2 or more years integrated exposure in IR/HR
    • Dispute Resolution experience (Grievances, CCMA and Bargaining Council).
    • Knowledge of Labour Laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHASA).
    • Experience in a highly unionized environment
    • Previous experience within the cleaning, FMCG and retail industry.
    • General business acumen.
    • Able to deal effectively with all levels of staff, including senior management.

    Desired skills and behavioral competencies: 

    • Willing to travel (MUST have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle)

    Area Manager - Western Cape (Boland region) (Boland)

    • Ecowize is looking for a skilled and competent Area Manager to join the Ecowize Group to oversee cleaning operations in the Western Cape (Boland region). If you are a natural leader and you have a passion for operations combined with key account management, this is the role for you.
    • The purpose of this role is to ensure the profitability of all sites within the portfolio by managing risks and identifying opportunities as the key account manager, as well as instilling customer centricity through regular, meaningful interactions. Part of the purpose is also to ensure compliance in terms of Health and Food Safety, operational stability, and people development.

    High-level Objectives:

    • Drive Operational Excellence through regular, meaningful interactions to drive an inclusive partnership with each customer.
    • Ensuring that all sites take the necessary actions and ensure training interventions to prevent damages and maintain facilities, equipment, and machinery.
    • People Focus on empowering, developing and motivating teams and individuals to perform at their best. Ensure continuous development for yourself and team.
    • Food Safety Focus in ensuring that all sites take the necessary actions and ensure training interventions are taken to eliminate food safety risks.

    Main responsibilities:

    • Maintain and build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
    • Plan and execute business strategy to grow Ecowize Footprint in this region.
    • Generate leads for possible new business opportunities and communicate leads to Business Development Manager.

     Job Specification:

    • Attend monthly meetings to discuss all aspects of the site such as progress reports, client feedback and team performance, aggregate hygiene reports, and budgets.
    • Use information obtained at the site to complete inspections, micros, audits, and customer feedback.
    • Conduct and report meetings with Teams.
    • Responsible for all portfolio operational activities, including operational problem-solving.
    • Lead & manage Site Managers, who in turn must manage their teams in order to produce a food-safe portfolio, daily.
    • Enforce a hygienic & safe working environment, with compliance to all statutory safety regulations.
    • Manage individual and team performance of HR Resource, and coach & develop Site Managers.
    • Manage and achieve the Portfolio Financial Budget.
    • Adhere to and promote the Company Value System by compliance with the Ecowize Way.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Management /or Food Technology Qualification (advantageous).
    • Experience in FMCG and or cleaning industry essential.
    • Strong poultry knowledge: Broilers, Breeders & Layers and the biosecurity that goes with the poultry sector. 
    • Wet cleaning experience will be advantageous
    • Staff Management and Labour Relations experience is essential.
    • Experience working with a Hygiene Quality Management System is advantageous.
    • Own reliable transport essential and willingness to travel.
    • Good command of the English Language.
    • High-Quality administrative skills required.
    • Be flexible to work at various sites as requested on short notice.
