    Manager: Personal Lines Sales & Services

    To effectively lead and manage the Personal Lines Sales and Services teams to ensure performance targets, customer targets and employee engagement targets are achieved in line with the Old Mutual Insure business strategy, and in line with the Old Mutual Insure values.

    Job Objective

    • Proactively manage an optimal employee experience and journey by recruiting, coaching, developing and motivating a customer services team to ensure the delivery and enhancement of the required customer experience, quality of service and business targets.
    • Manage all costs, resource capacity planning and utilisation to support the achievement of set out business targets, volumes, operational budgets and plans.
    • Identify and drive opportunities to improve and expand product and service offerings.
    • Professionally and actively manage and report on the achievement of targets, trends and improvements.
    • Lead the measurement, assessment and reporting on the performance of teams against targets and industry norms. Translate strategy into relevant service standards and processes.
    • Creating, communicating and measuring the corresponding operational measures and targets.
    • Analyse, improve and proactively resolve customer queries and complaints. Proactively identify and implement changes required in customer service and relations.
    • Develop customer solutions (process, product, systems) to address changing service requirements, implement customer centric strategies and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Manage effective SLA’s with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Streamline and integrate existing business processes and systems
    • Keep up to date with Best Operating Practice
    • Evaluate and implement new systems and best operating practices
    • Empower emerging leaders to achieve excellence and encourage innovation
    • Define and benchmark competitive performance measures
    • Create an aligned balanced scorecard of operational measures in order to optimally mange performance.

    Minimum Requirements

    • More than 3 years’ experience in Managing Team Leaders and operational teams.
    • More than 1 years’ Short-Term Insurance experience will be advantageous.
    • A relevant Operational/Business Management degree/diploma will be advantageous.

    OMLACSA Regulatory Accountant

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Preparing deliverables to the relevant Regulatory reporting bodies (the Prudential Authority, ASISA and South African Reserve Bank)
    • Adhering to very strict timelines to meet deadlines as set by the regulators;
    • Engaging with key stakeholders, which includes but is not limited to: Group Treasury Balance Sheet Management (BSM) team, Group Actuarial, Old Mutual Head of Actuarial Function (HAF) to ensure timely sign-off of reporting.
    • Assisting with internal projections used in the business planning process
    • Assist with projects that require regulatory input

    Key Result Areas

    • Drives and collates submission of regulatory reporting process to the various regulatory bodies, including but not limited to SAM reporting for OMLAC(SA)
    • Provide inputs to the Balance Sheet Management team in preparation of business planning of Accessible Capital
    • Presents key regulatory reports to the Head of Regulatory Reporting and HAF and facilitates timely sign-off by stakeholders
    • Calculation and submission of OMLAC(SA) Accessible capital reporting to BSM
    • Working within a team to ensure all submission deadlines are met
    • Preparation of other ad-hoc regulatory reporting

    Requirements, Qualifications And Experience Required

    • Minimum requirement: Qualified CA (SA)
    • HFM experience advantageous
    • SAM reporting experience advantageous
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Good communication skills – able to present complex reporting matters / issues to senior management
    • Able to assimilate a significant amount of information
    • Work under pressure in stressful environment

    OMLACSA Regulatory Manager

    Reporting responsibilities:
    To manage the OMLACSA Regulatory Reporting team, this includes:

    • Owning the process of delivering the quarterly and annual OMLACSA returns to the Prudential Authority;
    • Owning and delivering the OMLACSA reporting requirements to the SARB and ASISA;
    • Manage the delivery of the OMLACSA actual, forecast and business plan capital metrics for internal and external reporting purposes to ensure these are produced with supporting analysis on a timely basis, including the production of relevant elements of the capital dashboard for BSM;
    • Provide input as required into the ORSA process;
    • Manage the external audit process to ensure timely and effective delivery of the audit of the OMLACSA regulatory returns;
    • Support the Head of Regulatory Reporting in the production of Regulatory reporting updates for the Group Audit Committee;

    Other responsibilities:

    • Completion of applications to be submitted to the PA relating to OMLACSA solvency issues;
    • Review guidance issued by Regulators and provide feedback on these.
    • Keep abreast of current regulatory developments and ensure the reporting processes comply with new requirements.

    All areas:

    • Assist with the interpretation and communication of complex issues and concepts to stakeholders;
    • Continuously improve the efficiency and capabilities of the Group regulatory team and participate in the broader Finance initiatives and Ad hoc projects across the Group;
    • Ensure that effective and efficient systems, processes and controls are maintained for Group regulatory reporting to appropriate materiality;
    • Other ad hoc projects and activities as required.

    Management effectiveness:

    • Manage and develop a minimum of 1 direct report;
    • Drives operational excellence through active process review and improvement, not afraid to challenge status quo;
    • Manage interdependencies and relationships with key stakeholders across the Group Finance function, Group Treasury and Balance Sheet Management, Group Actuarial and Segment Finance teams.
    • Provide guidance to the team and business units on the practical application of OMLACSA Solo regulatory reporting to ensure complete and accurate reporting;

    Qualifications, Skills And Experience

    • Qualified CA (SA) with minimum 3 years post qualification experience
    • A background in Regulatory Reporting within the Financial Services industry is required
    • Thorough understanding of Insurance Act Requirements;
    • Experience in reporting of a listed multi-national will be beneficial
    • Understanding of legal and management consolidation structures with a strong appreciation of need for process disciplines and controls
    • Flexibility and willingness to work outside strictly defined role and hours when required
    • Ability to deal with complex issues
    • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
    • Strong organizational and project management skills
    • Ability to interact with senior management
    • Willing and able to learn fast and assimilate a significant amount of information
    • Able to work constructively under pressure and adapt to change
    • People management
