    Specialist Product Engineer

    Apply critical thinking & problem solving skills to contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle & quickly produce well-organised, optimized, and documented source code to deliver high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications.

    Job Description

    • DevOps
    • Apply critical thinking, design thinking and problem solving skills in an agile team environment to solve technical problems (Front End, Back End, Applications OR Middleware) with high quality solutions
    • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle including
    • Evaluate analysis, problem definition, business requirements, solution development & provide recommendations to enable the operational feasibility of solutions
    • Quickly produce well-organised, optimized, and documented source code to deliver technical solutions
    • Ensure designs & solutions support the technical organisation principles of self-service, repeatability, testability, scalability & resilience
    • Apply general design patterns and paradigms to deliver technical solutions
    • Support the development of CI / CD Pipelines (authoring & supporting CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins / similar tools and deploying to multi-site Kubernetes environments – supporting and managing your applications all the way to production)
    • Use & configure modern observability techniques leveraging e.g. aggregated logging via ELK stack, metrics via Prometheus / Grafana / NewRElic and tracing using Zipkin/Jaeger
       
      • Experience in: Angular, SQL, PostgreSQL; Python, JAVA; .Net, and an understanding of Data Warehouse products and concepts like Hadoop, Spark, C#, ASP.NET, .Net Core, Web Api + Web Services (REST & Soap)’ SQL Server, Version Control (TFS/Git),
      • Bonus Tech Skills:
      • MVC
      • Meccano
      • Angular/JavaScript Knowledge
      • PostgreSQL
      • Exposure to Work Flow Systems
      • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting e.g. Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes
    • Debug existing source code and polish feature sets.
      • Work with integrated teams and other developers to improve and evolve technical products and services
      • Align all application development & development process to Group Architecture & Infrastructure guidelines
      • Provide input into project & program teams (when required) to plan & manage the development lifecycle e.g. releases, risk management, testing, integration etc. / Agile
      • Conduct reviews, performance monitoring & ongoing optimization and maintenance on applications
      • Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies and development practices and continuously evolve existing knowledge & skill in preparation for cross domain and other experiences e.g. Secure Side, Testing, Infrastructure solutions etc.
        People
      • Conduct peer reviews, testing, problem solving within and across the broader team
      • Support the people change teams in the development of user material (Customer, Employee & 3rd Party Adoption)

    Risk & Governance

    • Identify technical risks and mitigate these (pre, during & post release)
    • Update / Design all application documentation aligned to the organization technical standards and risk / governance frameworks
    • Participate in incident management & DR activity – applying critical thinking, problem solving & technical expertise to get to the bottom of major incidents

    Senior Specialist Consultant (Fixed Term Temporary Contract role) - Home Loans

    To act as a subject matter expert on Property sales and Home loans product and to promote, negotiate and sell deals through cold calls across the country to customers and drive conversion of attorney instructions from grants across property Hub.

    Job Description
    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Mandated Sales management through multiple mediums

    • Ensure that the process to identify Sales Customers who qualify for the Absa HL Product propositions is robust and executed effectively
    • Act as a subject matter expert on property sales and various Product value proposition to close quote Calls to customers daily, through multi-mediums (i.e. telephonic discussions, written correspondence) to enable voluntary asset disposal based on referrals from the regions.
    • Seek clarity from the Sales customers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs. Address these needs as effectively as possible, whilst minimising any risk to the bank.
    • Ensure that value is extracted with every customer conversation by enabling winning conversations, achievement of team productivity and quality objectives as defined in the Absa Home loans sales strategy and RCA
    • Ensure that quality discussions with the customers regarding all benefits of HL Sales product and processes to enable excellent customer service.
    • Ensure achievement of Instructions sales targets on a daily basis – i.e. minimum number of customers contacted per day; number of sales instructions confirmed with customers; minimum number of own confirmed final grants converted to instructions or as defined by management
    • Share knowledge of best practices within the team to continuously improve customer service output by means of informal and formal knowledge sharing in Quality Assurance and coaching meetings weekly/monthly.

    Customer Service

    • Provide exceptional service to customers, both internally and externally.
    • Schedule regular interactions with customers as agreed upon within SLA.
    • Address and resolve client complaints timeously.
    • Maintain close working relationships with role players within relevant Business Units.
    • Establish sound relationships with clients so that you have a very good understanding of their business as well as the correct product propositions offered.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • Higher Certificate/Diploma or equivalent NQF level 5 or higher qualification preferred
    • RE 5 (Representatives) Certificate will be an advantage
    • At least four (4) years Sales experience in Home Loans products
    • Experience in Property sales
    • At least two (2) years’ experience within the South African property market
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
    • No criminal record
