    Financial Consultant: Client Provider Reconciliations

    What will you do?

    • The Financial Consultant will be responsible for reconciliations between instructions executed by Glacier and respective management companies and bank account reconciliations, reporting and investigation of control accounts.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Financial Consultant

    Reconciliation of client instructions and execution thereof by Management Companies

    • Reconciliation on automated reconciliation system
    • SAP reconciliation of provider payment control account and bank account

    Reconciliation of bank accounts: (RSA)

    • SAP 4/Hana reconciliation of plans issued and bank account

    Following up and effecting un-reconciled transactions

    • Communication (mail / telephonic) with Bank / Financial Institutions / Client Services with regards to unreconciled posts.
    • Sap 4/Hana reconciliation of queries after investigation.

    Resolution of un-reconciled transactions

    • Liaise with Management Companies regarding Rand and unit discrepancies
    • Ensure resolution of un-reconciled transactions on automated system and un-reconciled transactions on SAP
    • Management of control accounts on SAP

    Reporting

    • Internal reporting within Finance regarding reconciliations and control accounts
    • Bank Reconciliations and control accounts
    • Ad-hoc tasks
    • Daily reporting - controls

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Financial qualification essential
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within Linked Investment Services in a similar role advantageous
    • MS Excel Intermediate Level And SAP Experience Essential
    • Knowledge of Financial Reconciliation processes

    Junior Business Development Manager (GDE)

    What will you do?

    • The Junior Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting, sourcing, developing, and maintaining a specialised Investment Intermediary portfolio, and developing and/or increasing Sanlam Group’s market share of retail investment business from this portfolio, whilst delivering on the Glacier Distribution and Sales Strategy.

    The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Junior Business Development Manager:

    Targets and inflows

    • To service an existing Intermediary Glacier supporting client base
    • To source and introduce new Intermediaries to Glacier
    • To attract new business and increase retention of existing investment business
    • To ensure that profitable annual sales volumes and monthly targets are met by directly and actively growing and managing an Intermediary Portfolio
    • To ensure intermediaries adherence to all regulatory requirements (e.g. FAIS, FICA)
    • To co-ordinate and maintain effective SLA’s with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external)

    Growing the business

    • To develop and implement a regional business plan for the Glacier Investment Channel (sales volumes, investment education and training, marketing and client services – administration)
    • Implementing an Intermediary support model to facilitate effective and efficient support between the Distribution Channels, the Adviser / Broker and the various Sanlam Group product providers

    Knowledge and education

    • To train and develop the Intermediary’s and Intermediary’s support staff
    • To train and facilitate the use of Glacier’s digital strategy/tools such as the Web and Investment Hub.
    • To supply accurate investment, product, fund, service’s and investor information
    • To facilitate or identify Intermediary needs – technology, reporting and developing a profitable practice

    Marketing and Sales initiatives

    • To support investment projects and campaigns (marketing support)
    • To participate in investment product implementation (presentations, product development & client service support)

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Relevant financial / investment qualification (Financial tertiary qualification is recommended)
    • CFP is advantageous
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a financial distribution environment (Linked Service Provider and/or Investment Management Company is recommended) in a similar role
    • Supporting and developing of intermediary (Sanlam Advisers and IFA) practices
    • Proven Sales related success and track record
    • Technical knowledge about retail investments, retail investment industry
    • Valid drivers’ license and own reliable vehicle

    Business Development Consultant

    What will you do?

    • The purpose of the role is to provide new and existing clients with professional and relevant financial advice, planning and products (sales) that are suited to their needs and requirements. Undertake the procurement of sustainable business of a high quality, in accordance with the business targets set. Maintain and service these clients as part of a long- term relationship which builds loyalty to the brand and generates ongoing advice and sales. Undertake these activities within a compliant and ethical manner which results in the building and sustaining the Sanlam Group business and brand.

    Knowledge and education

    • Travelling to and training Intermediaries Assistants, Intermediaries Broker Consultants, Intermediaries, Office Personnel and Intermediaries on Glacier products, the Investment Hub and web
    • Identify training needs to educate and empower the Intermediary Assistants
    • Drive Digital engagement with Intermediaries Assistants

    • Assisting the Business Development Manager in servicing Intermediaries in the process reaching monthly inflow targets across all 3 product lines being LISP, Life and Glacier International.
    • Manage and track progress of all new business submitted including liaising with Life and Glacier International BDC’s to assist with administration of cases.
    • Assisting with Glacier proposals, quotations, ICE and tools
    • To ensure intermediaries adhere to all regulatory requirements (e.g. FAIS, FICA)
    • Draw and interpret Business Intelligence reports to identify areas of opportunity and improvement

    Administrative support

    • Attending to office administration (co-ordinating of managers diary, preparing documentation, overall smooth flow of day-to-day tasks)
    • Attending to general day-to-day tasks associated with supporting the Business Development Manager when dealing with clients and intermediaries (Intermediaries/ IFA) i.r.o
    • Telephone enquiries and written communication
    • Assisting clients/intermediaries with processes & business
    • Distribution of marketing materials (application forms, brochures)
    • Managing the Intermediaries Database
    • Work closely with other BDC’s in the team to communicate about panels and distribute tasks accordingly to maximize productivity and know where pressure points are to be addressed.
    • Support the Regional BDC Manager

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Relevant financial/ investment qualification
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the investment / collective investment service industry
    • Valid Driver’s License and own reliable vehicle
    • MS Office suite (intermediate level)
    • Knowledge of economic principles, environment and investment products
    • Excellent telephone etiquette

    Tax Administrator

    Overview

    • Responsible for providing a tax compliance service to a high net worth portfolio of clients of Sanlam Private Wealth. The role is key to securing and retaining the managed share portfolios of the Portfolio Management team. Some book build will be required.

    What will you do?

    • Accurately compute, complete and submit provisional tax returns
    • Arrange provisional tax payments
    • Accurately compute, complete and submit annual tax returns
    • Arrange assessed tax payments
    • Check income tax assessments
    • Lodge objections
    • Correspond with clients and SARS
    • Resolve client and SARS queries within the legislated timeframes
    • Obtain tax clearances
