    Accounting client advisor / Accounting senior

    Job Description    

    • Mazars International Services is recruiting for Accounting Client Advisors / Accounting Seniors to join the Accounting and Outsourced Services team. This high performing division of Mazars is focused on fast tracking growth in our primary markets by integrating local talent with our international teams. The successful candidate will report to the HOD / Manager.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    •   Process and reconcile monthly/bi-monthly client transactions from source documents and producing management accounts.
    •   Liaise with external and internal clients, financial institutions and any other relevant parties
    •   Perform general office administration duties
    •   Resolve review queries from Supervisor/Manager/Partner

    Senior Independent Review - Gqeberha

    Job Description    
    Mazars is offering an exciting position for a Senior within the Independent Review department in the Gqeberha office. The purpose of the role is to:

    • Compile financial statements (Companies, Close Corporations, Trusts, Sole Proprietors and Individuals)
    • Perform Independent reviews in terms of ISRE2400

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Provide accounting assistance and pass adjusting entries to bring accounting records to level where financial statements can be prepared in accordance with the relevant accounting framework. This includes calculating and accounting for income tax and deferred tax.
    • Draft annual financial statements, perform independent review and attend to all related administration requirements
    • Liaise and deal with clients and partners on their expectations and requirements.
    • Ensure the latest statutory knowledge is applied and undergo any necessary training.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles is essential.
    • 2 years out of article experience in an accounting firm
    • Professionally qualified as a Professional Accountant advantageous.
    • Proficient in the application IFRS for SME
    • Proficiency in MS Office with good working knowledge of Excel and Pastel.
    • Caseware proficiency essential, including drafting of financial statements in caseview.
    • Experienced in preparation of Company, Close Corporations, Trusts, Sole Proprietors and Individuals.
    • Proficient in providing accounting assistance and passing adjusting journal entries to take accounting records to financial statement level.
    • Proficient in calculating tax (including deferred tax) for companies, close corporations, trusts, sole proprietors and individuals
    • Must be able to plan, execute, and supervise the execution of fieldwork and finalising of independent review engagements.

    Audit Manager - Gqeberha

    Job Description    
    An opportunity has become available for an Audit Manager to join Mazars in South Africa.  The role is based at our Gqeberha office.

    • The purpose of the role will be to perform audit related duties, manage the audit team, provide direction, supervision and review for each audit assignment. Furthermore, to be responsible to ensure overall audit quality standards are met for all engagements. Supporting business development and building client relationships will also be key aspects of the role.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Manage resourcing and plotting of staff members on audit engagements
    • Work allocations as required by individual audit assignments
    • Audit assignment budget planning and management
    • Monitoring and evaluation of performance in relation to budget
    • Conduct full audit file reviews and related reports to ensure the relevant files are in compliance with the requirements set out by Mazars Audit Methodology, ISA’s and relevant accounting framework
    • Produce client reports (AFS, Minutes, Certificates, Management letters etc.)
    • Propose and finalise audit opinions
    • Performance management of staff members including, continuously providing feedback to staff
    • Provide technical assistance to staff members (where required)
    • Propose billings and manage WIP
    • Maintain and build excellent client relationships
    • Participate in business development efforts including targeting, lead generation, proposals etc.
    • Training, coaching and mentoring of audit staff

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Qualified CA(SA)
    • Minimum 2 - 3 years’ post articles experience
    • Proficient in CaseWare
    • Registered as a SAICA Assessor advantageous
    • A thorough knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SME and ISA Core

    Senior Accountant - Durban

    Job Description    
    Mazars in South Africa is offering an exciting position for a Senior Accountant within the Accounting and Outsources Services department, based in Umhlanga Ridge, Durban.

    • The jobe role is will consist of ensuring the complete bookkeeping function up until trial balance level and to produce annual financial statements for a variety of client portfolios.

    • Perform independent review engagements
    • Resolve review queries from Supervisor/Manager/Partner and do final entries as per Partner’s finalisation
    • Manage individual productivity and budgets
    • Provide Pastel/Caseware/Xero support to clients upon request
    • Maintain client relationships
