    Senior PR Account Manager

    Description

    • We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our PR team in the position of a Senior Account Manager with Magna Carta. If you're not scared of hard work, have PR agency experience, and a passion for seeing client’s names in the media, we would love to hear from you. 

    Scope of work: 

    • Implementation of communications strategy/activation plans/contractual undertakings as directed by managing director, deputy managing director, senior account director, and account directors.
    •  Conceptualising, writing, editing and/or subbing extensive documentation including, but not limited to, press releases, opinion pieces, strategic proposals and public relations roll-out plan.
    • The ability to write to a standard indicated by the managing director, deputy managing director, senior account director, or account directors. 
    • Overseeing client activities, including attending weekly or bi-weekly status meetings. 
    • Day-to-day running of accounts. 
    • Follow correct approval channels as agreed by client and directed by managing director, deputy managing director, senior account director, and account directors. 
    •  Continually growing and cultivating a solid media contact base. 
    • Media relations related to client accounts. 
    • Continual understanding of the evolving South African traditional and social media landscape. 
    • Build and maintain a good working relationship with clients. 
    •  Identify alternative media channels on a regular basis. 
    • Manage and exceed client expectations. 
    •  Fulfil all aspects of the agreed scope of work for the client timeously and to a standard approved by the managing director, deputy managing director, and senior account director. 
    • Demonstrate strategic thinking and follow through.

    The Magna Carta Way 

    • The Magna Carta Finance team operates differently than the other finance teams in the group, in that we fulfil the function of the production as well as traffic department to a certain degree
    • Finance generate all system CE’s to client. 
    • Finance generates all system PO’s (House and Production)

    Creditors

    • Raise all production supplier orders on Chase against relative job and CE
    • Raise all house supplier orders on NAV
    • Ensure all invoices received are correctly addressed and reflecting our VAT number
    • Capturing of invoices received and obtain the correct authorisation
    • Ensure that all payments are properly authorised
    • Ensure that invoices are correctly matched to orders
    • Ensure authorisation is received for unmatched invoices
    • Preparation of creditors reconciliations
    • Presenting reconciliation and transfer requisitions to the manager for approval
    • Preparation of EFT’s as and when required
    • Getting cheques signed and following up on whereabouts of cheques and ensuring that they are ready on time
    • Ensure follow-up on regular monthly payments in order to ensure that all expenses are accounted for every month
    • Ensure office management suppliers are paid on required dates i.e. Telkom etc
    • Liaise with suppliers and ensure all account queries are sorted out on time
    • Opening and management of all new suppliers
    • Recon supplier PAYE schedule and submit to payroll

    Requirements
    Minimum Requirements:

    • Three year diploma or degree in Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent qualification
    • A minimum of three years experience as a Credit Controller and/or Finance Administrator or Finance Assistant

    • Your job as Account Manager will be to work within the Consumer/Business PR teams on media relations, writing and editing of copy, distributing editorial content to journalists, client liaison, assisting with events and promotions, influencer management, packing of media drops and admin support.
