    Bale Line Assistant Uptakes

    As a Bale Line Assistant Uptakes #3, you will be responsible for:

    • Assist with startup and shut down of various operations throughout  the bale line from the cutter to the Unitizer.
    • Assist with the availability of  packaging materials for bales (wire, wrapper, ink for labelling).
    • Safe operation of overhead crane/hoist for loading wire and wrapper rolls to the respective equipment.
    • Report problematic equipment affecting process.
    • Assist with autonomous maintenance on units as and when required to maximise efficiency on plant.
    • Maintain a high level of housekeeping (Achieve and maintain 5 S).
    • Ensure that high level of safety standards are maintained in area.
    • Assist with the issuing of clearances and isolations according to isolation procedure standards.
    • Assist with first line troubleshooting and actioning of defects on the bale line to ensure that downtime is minimised.
    • Assist with ensuring quality and appearance of wrapped bales are to customer satisfaction.
    • Assist with dryer cleaning during sheet breaks and shuts.
    • Perform adhoc duties during incidental and maintenance shuts as requested by the shift supt.

    What are we looking for? 

    • Matric with Maths and Physical Science or N3 Pulp and Paper with Maths and Science.
    • 6 months industry experience.

    Maintenance Support Instruments - Shalaamboot

    As a Maintenance Support Instruments (Foreman), you will be responsible for: 

    • Assess equipment, materials, and labour needed to complete large and/or complex maintenance tasks to ensure that maintenance activities meet district standards and resolve the defined issue(s) while reducing wasted resources.
    • Collaborate with others (e.g., contractors, vendors, etc.) to implement and maintain services and/or programs.
    • Coordinate services and activities of outside contractors as assigned to ensure that contracted work is completed in a safe, effective, and timely manner and that it meets Mill’s standards and objectives.
    • Directly assigned maintenance staff in resolving maintenance issues to ensure that Mill sections are maintained in a safe and effective working/learning environment.
    • Maintain a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records to provide up-to-date references and comply with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.
    • Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and vehicle(s) to ensure their availability as needed to meet assigned maintenance objectives.
    • Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities to ensure that maintenance issues are resolved, and projects are completed in a safe, effective, and timely manner.
    • Prepare a variety of program-mandated documents and reports to document activities and comply with Mill and/or legal requirements.
    • Prioritise and assign system-related work orders to skilled maintenance staff to ensure that the section is maintained in a safe working/learning environment and meets guidelines within the approved budget.
    • Required to work standby and overtime as required.
    • Integrating and aligning with lean manufacturing.
    • Drive SAP to ensure proper maintenance standards, asset utilisation, planning forecast, and maintenance execution.
    • Passion to drive and excel performance on the machine.
    • Manage and assist in RCAs to implementation and improve on Predictive maintenance.

    What are we looking for?

    • Post Matric Certificate / Diploma / NQF level 5 - 6
    • Recognised Trade Certificate (Manpower/Seta accredited)
    •  3 - 5 years’ plant operations experience
    • Computer Literate (MS Office Package)
    • Valid driving license
    • Pulp and Paper industry experience advantageous
    • SAP knowledge advantageous

    Stores Administrator

    As a Stores Administrator, you will be responsible for: 

    • Daily recon of diesel Movements on SAP.
    • Receipt of diesel deliveries on SAP.
    • Compile stores and MRP Month end reports.
    • Assist with the management of stores' fixed costs (within budget) and issue fixed cost reports.
    • Manage all store procedures and works instruction on the Sappi system.
    • Manage timekeeping of all store’s personnel.
    • Manage and update the standby lists on the system and worksheet.
    • Administer the 5S system, housekeeping, and updating noticeboards.
    • Manage and ensure compliance with the BBS observations as per requirement.
    • Arrange functions as and when required.
    • Manage and control redundant materials MRP process and measurement on worksheets, Xcontent, and sale/discarding of redundant items.
    • Schedule meetings and taking minutes
    • Manage the stores drivers and vehicles to ensure effective and safe utilisation in compliance with the road traffic act and all other Laws and Bylaws.
    • Manage the deliveries and collection of the repairable stock materials to be collected or delivered by the store’s drivers as per the repairable MRP process.
    • Create and maintain the driver’s PDP documents on the system.
    • Manage all general administrative duties, including travel arrangements, stores filing system, and control of stationery.
    • Stand in for stock MRP controller during absences.
    • Create purchase requisitions, picking slip, and service acceptance on SAP.
    • Coordinate the training plan and requirements ensuring all legal requirements are completed as necessary.
    • Coach and train new employees in the area of responsibility

     What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 with Maths and Science.
    • NQF5 or equivalent Secretarial/Office Administration Qualification.
    • 3 Years’ Experience in Administration
    • Microsoft Office Package
    • Risk/Safety Systems Experience
    • Valid Driving License
    • SAP experience - SAP PM, RTP and CO will be advantageous

    Storeman

    As a Storeman, you will be responsible for:

    • Receive materials as per the receiving procedure and SAP process
    • Ensure quality checks on selected materials
    • Ensure bin materials in the correct bins according to SAP
    • Ensure daily material counts as required from the MRP Controller whilst issuing and binning the materials
    • Handle or transport the materials in a careful and safe manner
    • Issue materials as per issuing procedure and deliver said materials to the plant
    • Relocate materials to new storage bins as and when required
    • Maintain the security of the stores at all times by controlling and limiting access to the stores' area
    • Perform housekeeping with the team – focus on the area of responsibility, and ensure the stores comply with the 5S principles
    • Ensure that the physical stock in the bin is as per SAP
    • Work shifts if and when required
    • Obtain licenses to operate vehicles within the stores including overhead crane
    • Do the materials maintenance activities as per schedule
    • Perform relevant tasks requested from Stores Supervisor/ Materials Manager
    • Co-ordinate with plant on receiving and delivering of materials
    • Create a safe work environment by identifying and managing day-to-day risks
    • Report accidents, injuries, and fires immediately to the Stores Supervisor or Safety Representative
    • Accountable for ensuring adherence to all safety BP’s, procedures and BBS practices.
    • Ensure adherence to specific regulatory requirements

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 (Maths and Science)
    • EB Motor Vehicle Licence
    • 1 year clerical and engineering stores experience
