    Development Manager: SanlamConnect: Lynnwood (Project Khula) : Re-run

    What will you do?

    • This role is responsible for the direct coaching, vesting, developing, supervising and performance managing of a portfolio of newly appointed financial advisers for the first 24 months (the vesting and development period) of their employ, ensuring they are retained, competent and productive as quickly as possible.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Supervision and management of financial advisers during the first 24 months of employment encompassing the following outputs:

    • Activity, productivity and performance management of newly appointed advisers
    • Upskilling newly appointed advisers on products, technical knowledge, systems, processes, compliance, legislation etc.
    • Focused Coaching and Vesting to ensure that the FA undergoes all the necessary steps, processes and requirements to become vested as quickly as possible to full productivity
    • Focused Development of FA's in the different market segments i.e. Estate Planning, Investments etc.
    • Recruitment of Financial Advisers
    • Sourcing and vesting new advisers in Key Accounts

    Qualification and Experience

    • Matric
    • Wealth Management/ Financial Planning qualification
    • FAIS i.e. RE5 and 120 industry credits
    • CFP would be an advantage
    • Management/Coaching Diploma would be advantageous
    • Marketing and Sales experience in the financial services industry
    • 3-5 years experience as a Financial Adviser/ Planner in the middle to affluent market segment (proven track record)
    • Experience in mentoring/ vesting of advisers
    • Previous management role would be advantageous
    • COB and CPD points

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Financial Services Industry and product knowledge (Sanlam and/or competitors)
    • Legal technical knowledge (financial advice related and product related)
    • Financial/Assurance products (broad and background)

    Financial Planner - Firebird SCS

    What will you do?

    • The purpose of the role is to provide new and existing clients with professional and relevant financial advice, planning and products (sales) that are suited to their needs and requirements. Undertake the procurement of sustainable business of a high quality, in accordance with the business targets set. Maintain and service these clients as part of a long- term relationship which builds loyalty to the brand and generates ongoing advice and sales.     Client consultations and sales

    • Conduct a financial needs analysis, using the relevant e-tools / instruments or systems, to ascertain the client’s full financial situation; or utilise the services of a Para-Planner for this. (Draw policy history).
    • Provide sound personal financial planning advice.
    • Apply financial knowledge in putting together a plan that meets the needs of the client for a balanced portfolio.
    • Present financial solutions to the client in a professional and competent manner aligned to Treating Customers Fairly.
    • Use relevant processes and system tools to capture analysis information and update records accordingly.
    • Review client’s portfolio annually by undertaking the above steps.

    Client Service

    • Ensure all client interactions are ethical, courteous and professional.
    • Follow-up or refer all existing business queries to be resolved timeously through ‘back-office’ support.
    • Strive for excellent, value-added service to clients so that they do not seek competitor products or services.
    • Undertake continuous learning in terms of knowledge, skills and market/industry issues so as to service clients within the defined market.
    • Initiate long term client relationships and maintain a relational focus.

    Monitor, update and reporting (weekly/monthly)

    Document and present the following activities:

    • Number and profile of contacts, appointments, consultations.
    • Issued business and revenue against targets.
    • Update client details on records.
    • Appropriate workflow and activity monitor system entries.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Grade 12
    • Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) "Fit and Proper" requirements and Regulatory Examination successfully completed if registered with Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for more than 24 months.

    Head:Channel Economics and Remuneration

    What will you do?

    To drive the distribution economics and remuneration strategy that will enable and guide the Sanlam Retail Mass (RM) Distribution Division to:

    • Predict, drive and measure the success probabilities of products across various distribution channels.
    • Develop and implement competitive and profitable remuneration and incentive structures for Advisors. 
    • Make informed, data-led decisions to reach and grow its client base and achieve its strategic objectives.
    • To take accountability for departmental performance through business planning, goals, metrics, and partnerships.
    • Deliver and gain approval for the distribution channel economics and remuneration strategy and business plan for Sanlam Retail Mass (RM).   Develop and embed metrics and clear performance measurements along the distribution channel value chain. 
    • Support the Executive with input and subject matter expertise relating to distribution channel economics and remuneration during the   development and delivery of the Distribution strategy for Sanlam RM.
    • Work with the Executive to deliver and gain approval for distribution channel economics and remuneration initiatives and projects that will   support the strategic and business objectives.
    • Prepare, propose, manage and deliver the annual distribution channel economics and remuneration budget.  
    • Further enable the profitability targets per channel through identifying, setting up and managing partnerships with external vendors and service   providers.
    • Ensure continuous monitoring of performance against budget and be accountable for budget control for the department. Motivate   recommendations/requests for further budget or deviation from budget where appropriate.
    • Remain up to date with advancements and developments in technology, best practice and legal/statutory requirements relating to profitability, economics and remuneration. Facilitate adoption of best practices to optimise departmental performance. 
    • Work with product owners and provide subject matter expertise during the development of product profitability objectives and targets. Ensure   alignment of objectives and targets of products across all levels of distribution.
    • Drive the formulation and implementation of Advisor remuneration and incentive models per distribution channel, aligned to the business   objectives to drive key business outcomes, within allocated budget.
    • Ensure equivalence of reward principles are adhered to.
    • Drive the measurement of advisor performance per distribution channel, in line with incentive models and indexes. Ensure models are updated   with relevant data.
    • Compile and deliver monthly and annual Exco and Managerial reporting.
    • Be the custodian for channel economics and remuneration support and subject matter expertise to the Distribution community and other  business stakeholders.

    • At least 8 -10 years distribution channel experience in the insurance industry:
    • Experience in engaging with key business and external partners across all levels (especially at senior levels)  
    • Data analytics / metric / model development 
    • Experience in working/ applying commercial, business and financial principles
    • Previous leadership experience (previous supervisory experience ideal)
    • Previous report writing experience
    • Project management experience
