    Turner - Wadeville

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Read, understand, interpret all machining drawings and documentation
    • Use all measuring instruments (micrometres, verniers, etc.)
    • Comply with all quality standards as set out by company
    • Work to very fine machining tolerances
    • Read and understand and interpret CNC programs
    • Work on Siemens and Fanuc control systems
    • Set all tooling and machine work shifts
    • Set up work pieces on CNC horizontal boring mills and vertical boring mills
    • Comply with all safety protocols set out by company
    • Work on manual machines when required (Lathe and milling machines)
    • Able to set up large components for machining (10 tons and heavier)

    Minimum Skills Qualifications and Experience required

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Trade test certificate (Turner) 
    • 3-5 years’ experience on CNC Milling and Turning operations
    • Experience in Siemens/Fanuc/Mazatrol CNC controls
    • Write own basic programs when required
    • Valid Overhead crane license will be an advantage

    Short Behavioral Competencies required

    • A team player who can built a good working relationship.
    • Must be self-driven and disciplined
    • Able to work under pressure
    • Good time keeping
    • Be able to work with minimal supervision

    Aftermarket Serviceman

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Maintain safety (SHE) standards at all time;
    • Ensure correct and applicable use of and proper control of personnel protective equipment (PPE);
    • Always maintain quality workmanship;
    • Ensure proper timekeeping;
    • Promote continuous improvement by identifying and facilitating the implementation of new ideas, processes and/or methods, by reporting it to the Site Manager;
    • Daily maintenance and legal inspections;
    • Inspect production machines for safe operation of all components.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Minimum Skills and experience required

    • Qualified Millwright with Gas testing and Flameproofing certificates;
    • Valid Driver’s License;
    • Own transport;
    • Must be able to obtain a medical clearance. (Red Ticket);
    • Must be self-driven and disciplined;
    • Be able to work without supervision when required;
    • Experience in the mining industry environment;
    • Strong customer service orientation;
    • Understand and fabricate as per approved OEM drawings;
    • Maintenance experience on JOY machines;
    • Knowledge of JOY equipment will be advantageous.

    Additional Information

    • Positive attitude towards improving safety, productivity and cost;
    • Must be willing to work overtime, shifts and standby and weekends as and when required.

    Training Coordinator II

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Management of Trust and KMC bursary programs;
    • Management of the recruitment process for the bursary programme;
    • Mentoring and coaching of bursary students;
    • Managing the Socio-Economic Development budget;
    • Management of customer and community  related projects;
    • Identifying and performing due diligence on proposed projects;
    • Planning SED events with internal and external SED stakeholders in line with KMC Programme and Operations Policies and Procedures; and
    • Providing support in coordination of all Transformation related events. e.g. Mandela day, Heritage day and employee volunteerism etc.

    Minimum Skills required

    • Grade 12;
    • Degree/Diploma in Social Sciences/ Human Resources Management or Corporate Communications;
    • Minimum 2- 5 years’ experience within a Social Science, Human Resources Management /Corporate Communications environment;
    • Project Management experience would be an advantage;
    • Budget management experience is required;
    • In depth knowledge of the Transformation climate in South Africa is essential;
    • Must have MS Office, good report writing and presentation skills; and
    • Must have valid driver’s licence and own transport.

    • Must have strong drive for results;
    • Must have good communication and organizing skills;
    • Must be a self-starter who takes control and accountability;
    • Must be able to work collaboratively within a matrix organization; and
    • Must be willing to travel to different sites to monitor projects.

    Temporary Contractor

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Driving Zero harm, incident, and accident-free environment. Drive compliance in accordance with statutory requirements;
    • Assessing risk, possible safety hazards and environmental impacts of all aspects of operations;
    • Submitting weekly report, recording hazard identified and safety observations on velocity;
    • Conducting inspection on production processes and at the department. Follow-up on findings raised during inspection;
    • Conducting EHS awareness training, safety inductions to new employees.
    • Participating in continuing education to update knowledge of environmental, health and safety protocols.
    • Investigating causes of accidents and other unsafe conditions on the job site. Finding the best way to prevent future accidents.
    • Reviewing, enforcing, and reporting on Environmental Health and safety compliance.

    Minimum Skills required

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • National Diploma in Safety Management /Environmental Health;
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in the Manufacturing/ Engineering environment;
    • Knowledge on relevant legislation (OHSA);
    • Solid knowledge of risk assessment procedure;
    • Computer literate in MS Office suit; and
    • Must have valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

    Behavioural Competencies required

    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with customers and to accept and adopt a competent, responsible attitude; and
    • Must be passionate about safety; a self-starter, with ability to perform under pressure;  and
    • Must be willing to work nightshift.
