    Internal Auditor - Application Control Reviews

    Job Description
    Are you someone who can:

    • Obtain a good understanding of the IT control environment being audited (including link to business processes and risk management related aspects), and the interdependencies linked to this.
    • Plan audit assignments based on key process and business risks identified and design the audit program in line with risks and key IT application controls to be tested.
    • Incorporate data analytics (DA) to enhance audit planning and create efficiencies in audit fieldwork.
    • Execute audit field work in compliance with quality standards by following and completing prepared work programs. Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management practices and internal controls.
    • Evaluate IT areas such as information security, operations management, and disaster recovery procedures related to the IT application controls to be reviewed.
    • Provide clear and sufficient audit evidence to support recommendations and audit opinion.
    • Express an opinion based on the results of the work performed.
    • Identify opportunities to improve the IT internal control environment and project management processes.
    • Identify and clearly articulate the root cause of issues identified and impact thereof and recommend changes to business processes that will address the IT and Project control weaknesses.

    You will be an ideal candidate if you:

    • BSC / BCom (Information Systems) or equivalent degree.
    • At least 3 years Application Control Reviews (ACR) and / or Project auditing experience.
    • Experience with data analytics/ CAATs is an advantage.
    • Experience in banking and financial services environment will be an advantage.

    IT Internal Audit Senior Manager

    Job Description
    Key responsibilities:

    • To lead the IT audit team and provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management and control over IT Systems and Platforms, General IT Controls, CAATs and Projects.
    • To take accountability for the management and development of the IT audit team and to provide consulting services to the client.
    • Delivering Assurance and Consulting Services.
    • Maintenance of an IT audit risk universe per business unit.
    • Preparation of the annual IT audit plan per business unit, considering strategic plans and emerging risks.
    • Ensure that customers are provided with world-class perspectives and solutions.
    • Continually measure the impact of the audit service on the customer base.
    • Drive the relationships with the customer.
    • Represent GIA at appropriate client forums and committees.
    • Add value to the processes and the business of the customers.
    • Implemented and maintain the GIA strategy for all assurance services provided. Align assurance services to the overall GIA strategy.
    • Build relationships with customers that will result in a long-term win-win partnership.
    • Develop and maintain the audit population and risk universe for the business unit.
    • Preparation of the annual audit plan, considering strategic plans and emerging risks.
    • Provide input and assist with the preparation and review of the various committee packs.
    • Identifying opportunities and driving an integrated audit approach between process audit and IT audit.
    • Implemented and maintain Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAATs) for control testing ensuring efficiencies is introduced in the audit process.
    • Performance management of allocated colleagues

    Minimum requirements to apply:

    • Completed BCOM/BTECH/BSc/CA (SA)
    • Extensive experience and knowledge on General Controls Review, Application Controls Review, CAATS and Project Auditing is a pre-requisite.
    • CISA, CISM, CRISC, CIA, or relevant IT audit related qualification at a post graduate level will be an advantage
    • Experience: At least 2 years senior management experience

    • Engage in cross-functional relationships to obtain and to provide work support, and leverage Group and Treasury capabilities to deliver reporting requirements.
    • Contribute to sustaining a competitive edge through external networking, benchmarking, and representation on related forums.
    • Brainstorm, identify, implement, and drive innovative best practice ideas within the organisation to ensure increased efficiencies.
    • Create and participate in specialist communities of practice and represent the organisation at Group and industry level to share best practice insights and solutions.
    • Drive projects and facilitate change management to ensure the implementation of new reporting requirements as they arise.
    • Ensure and encourage adherence to operational frameworks, policies, and procedures.
    • Establish an enabling climate and culture to energise employees, give meaning to work, minimise work disruption and maximise employee productivity.
    • Influence the development and enablement of a culture and climate where the organisational values are demonstrated and lived.
    • Influence the understanding and adoption of the organisational strategic direction.
