    Environment, Health and Safety Officer 1

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Environment, Health and Safety Officer required for our Nigel assembly plant.
    • Ensure/provide a safe and healthy environment to our people and to our contractors during construction sites and projects.
    • Minimize impacts on the Environment (environmental footprint of operations & management of historical pollution).
    • Protect Alstom assets and reduce risks of business interruption resulting from fire and natural catastrophes

    MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

    • Support Site EHS manager for EHS topics
    • Cooperate with the internal resources to achieve EHS objectives.
    • Support the Site EHS Manager to perform EHS Risk Assessment and to define appropriate measures to control risks.
    • Support the EHS Site Manager to prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans.
    • Assist Site EHS Manager to coordinate and control activities with respect of EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operation areas.
    • Provide support and advice to site personnel to prevent injury, damage to plant and equipment, fire, environmental pollution.
    • Recognize the best practices and the good performance. React to violations to regulations and Alstom Standards.
    • Advise other Site personnel on all aspects of EHS applicable to site activities.
    • Develop Site EHS Management System
    • Support the Site EHS Manager to develop, deploy and maintain the local procedures and tools and make sure they are aligned with Alstom Standards and international standards (ISO 14001 and ISO45001).
    • Support the Site EHS Manager to ensure that Alstom EHS standards and tools (Alstom Zero Deviation Plan (AZDP), Transport Operational Performance in Environment (TOPE), Transport Key processes) are deployed at Site level.

    EHS Compliance

    • Assist the Site EHS Manager to ensure compliance of the site activities according to the EHS Plan, guidelines and work instructions.
    • Perform EHS legal compliance checks for specific requirements.
    • Develop EHS culture in the site
    • Inform, instruct and train employees to carry out the work in safe & environment-friendly mode according to the method of statement.
    • Participate in the implementation of the site EHS training programs by providing EHS inductions and ensuring Toolbox meetings are organized.

    Report, Measure & Review

    • Support the EHS Site Manager to capture, report, record, investigate and analyse accidents/incidents in order to implement corrective and preventive actions. 
    • Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports. Can be in charge of feeding EHS reporting system in line with Group reporting requirements and under control by Site EHS manager.
    • Carry out inspections of work areas and carry out EHS audits and report any discrepancy.
    •  perform any other adhoc activty as per instruction from senior individuals.
    • could be requested to suppor with site security activites.

    • Injury Frequency Rate (IFR) 1 & IFR 2
    • Fatality / severe accidents
    • SOV number or other leading indicators
    • Health and wellbeing (Occupational diseases, ergonomic)
    • Environment (Energy, water, waste, Transport Operational Performance in Environment, Volatile Organic Compound,..) 

     MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

    Educational Requirements

    Mandatory:

    • Diploma in Safety Managment (EHS Related)
    • Lead Auditor (ISO 45001, 14001)

    Desirable:

    Experience

    Mandatory:

    • Minimum 5 years working experience as EHS in a manufacturing environment
    • Proven work experience with ISO14001 and ISO45001
    • Deep knowledge of local legal EHS requirements (All related country legislation)
    • Advance MS Office skills
    • Valid Drivers license
    • evidence of presenting safety topics to employees (Train the Trainer)

    Warranty Field Technician

     PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • Troubleshooting of Alstom products at customer site in order to ensure their availability.
    • Provide technical expertise to customer, warranty support team and project team members.
    • To carry reworks, retrofits, end manufacturing, repairs and/or other kinds of works outside manufacturing facility.
    • To apply modifications in manufactured Rolling Stock units already delivered by the factory following the Field Modification Instruction (FMI) documents and complying with Alstom Ubunye industrial and quality process.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    TROUBLESHOOTING:

    • To troubleshoot and repair Alstom products in line with specified Quality procedures. This will require Manual work and sometimes working on powered up trains in a safe and controlled manner.
    • To carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies.
    • To carry out all levels of diagnostic and work arising involving the use of onboard computerized equipment/working manuals, troubleshooting guides and subsystem knowledge.
    • To undertake other duties as specified by the Warranty coordinator or Project Warranty manager.
    • To adhere to Company procedures especially in relation to Quality and Health & Safety.
    • To intervention reports upon finishing all the troubleshooting and repairs of the products.
    • To assist the Reliability team and the Field Engineer to understand the root cause of complex failures

    FIELD MODIFICATIONS

    • To undertake reworks, retrofits, repairs and/or other kinds of works to perform outside manufacturing facility as specified by the Manager according to Organization Chart.
    • Implementation of modifications in Rolling Stock units according to the modification file, in line with Company procedures especially in relation to Industrial and Quality.
    • Ensure all correct tools are available prior the works, validity and certification of relevant tools.
    • Ensure all correct materials, components and parts prior the works are available.
    • Populate relevant modification follow-up data base.
    • Guarantee information flow within the field modification team.
    • Perform quality self-control.
    • To write a clear and detailed report on the work done (Job card)
    • To drive company vehicles when required and applicable.
    • To attend regular team briefings.
    • To read reports and manuals as and when required.
    • To train new members of the team.
    • Respect EHS rules and any work-related processes.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • A minimum of a National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical and mechanical Engineering.

    Configuration and Change Manager 1

    Your responsibilities

    • Establishing and maintained the CM network including all involved functions in the Configuration and Change Management process and identification of Configuration and Change Management responsible personnel in all required level of the organization, within the project team, and ensuring that they are adequately trained and empowered.
    • Establishing and managing CM-related processes, tools, policies and procedures to cover the whole Configuration and Change Management process chain - with agreed transfer mechanisms of data between tools, if necessary.
    • Establishing, defining and managing Configuration and Change Management deliverables incl. harmonization and reviews.
    • Implementing and supervising operation of Configuration and Change Management process by the use of KPIs.
    • Facilitating the Change Management implementation and all standardization of IS tools related to Configuration and Change Management process.
    • Managing of interfaces between Configuration and Change Management process, e.g. by implementing the Change Management process on the projects from day 1, ensuring documentation control (numbering and version control, storage, numbering and naming conventions), and release management.
    • Effective hand-over and coordination of Configuration and Change Management processes, responsibilities and data at the end of key phases (realization, field support).
    • Providing a defined and transparent interface between Configuration and Change Management teams.
    • Lead all mandatory Change Control Board Meetings (CCB-P, CCB-A, CCB-E, CCB-I)
    • Ensuring proper application of the standard IS tools used.
    • Coordinate all Change Orders of the running locomotive project
    • Acknowledge/confirm and control each Change Order
    • Advise Engineering on planned changes from manufacturing point of view
    • Check technical documents in terms of feasibility
    • Verify completeness of change documentation and distribute to involved functions
    • Estimate and calculate costs for each change request.
    • Scrutinize the reasons for change ie, safety / product enhancement / customer request and recommend go / no go on each CR based on the accurate business case provided. 
    • Communicate and clarify information with all interfaces such as: Engineering, Production, Project-management, Procurement, Quality Control, Planning
    • Coordinate with Procurement material sourcing for technical changes.
    • Minimise obsolescence impact of change.
    • Efficient run in / run out management, via planned Change Control Board Execution cut in.    
    • Modify material kitting information together with responsible persons from TE with regards to approved and implemented changes.
    • Secure the traceability of the ‘Baselines’ of each locomotive – (configuration level of the locomotive)

    Your Experience, Skills and Qualifications

    • A National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Project Management/Business Management, or equivalent qualification.
    • Typically, 3 – 5 years’ experience in relevant role.
    •  Certifications: CMIIB will be an advantage
    •  Knowledge and Experience in the practices of Configuration and Change Management
    •  Knowledge and Experience in principles of Business Process Management
    •  knowledge in concepts of Project Management
    • Profound understanding of Configuration and Change Management processes (GRP-016007, CFG-RS-PRO-002),
    • Assertiveness
    • MS Office skills at Intermediate to advance level
    • Customer interface requirements
    • Sound verbal and written communication
    • Railway/loco experience will be an advantage
