    Senior Lecturer:Unit for Statistical Consultation DVC:Research, Innovation and Internationali

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    • The purpose of this job, located in the Unit for Statistical Consultation, is to enhance research capacity at Nelson Mandela University and ensure the integrity and quality of research produced at the institution by providing comprehensive, statistical consultation service to all staff members engaged in academic (non-contract) research and postgraduate students registered at the University.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • To provide statistical consulting and research support for staff and postgraduate students
    • To provide general and advanced statistical and methodological consulting for stakeholders
    • To provide instructional workshops and other training on basic and advanced statistical techniques
    • To assist staff to gain experience with one or more statistical software packages (e.g. R, SPSS, SAS, Statistica, AMOS, etc.)

    • Possess sufficient specialist knowledge to undertake a wide range of statistical consultancy projects

    • To facilitate the learning process in Management Accounting and Finance for undergraduate and postgraduate students, the majority of whom intend to qualify as Chartered Accountants (SA).
